“Weird Al’s” new album “Mandatory Fun” already getting a lot of internet buzz…

So Weird Al’s new album is coming out soon and as soon as Weird Al himself announced the news it immediately sparked a lot of internet buzz. The news crashed his official website and it’s already a best selling album on amazon.com with all the pre-orders. My own blog posts about the new album have gotten more blog views.

This is just proof that the world still LOVES Weird Al no matter how much time off he takes in between albums.

I wonder what parodies he’s planning to do for this one??? He’s probably gonna end up doing most of the current pop stuff. Every Weird Al album he usually does parodies of music that’s out currently. For this album he’s probably gonna do a parody of Miley Cyrus “Wrecking Ball”. I think he’s gonna do a Lorde parody like maybe parody “Royals” or “Glory and Gore”. He’ll probably do some Lady Gaga and Katy Perry maybe. Justin Bieber? Kanye West? I can see him doing Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”. I can see Weird Al doing a hilarious parody of Psy’s “Gangnam Style”.

He’ll do any of that stuff.

He’s also gonna do some kind of polka medley with his accordion like he always does every album.

You’ll never know what Weird Al have planned for his upcoming albums. He’s always unpredictable and it’s always fun to predict what parodies he’s planning to do.

I’m sure he’s gonna release a single and a video soon before the album release. I’ll be getting the album. I have every Weird Al album except for “Bad Hair Day” which is the only one I don’t have.

He’s a genius, though. Can’t wait for the new album!

Edit to add: Speaking of Weird Al, I figure it would be fun to do a top 10 list of my favorite parodies of his over the years. I’ll come up with that list soon. Maybe later or tomorrow.

Youtube will become the next myspace if google is serious about this…

What do I mean when youtube will become the next myspace??? It means that people will jump ship from youtube to somewhere else just like people jump shipped from the old myspace to facebook. Google is getting pretty slimey. I’m starting to dislike youtube even more now and even I’m already starting to think about uploading my videos somewhere else. Independent labels maybe gone from youtube soon including some of the biggest artists like Adele and Jack White will be gone from youtube soon ’cause of the stupid streaming service deal.

I find it real sad that people have to target musicians like this in youtube. First major labels made it tough for youtube musicians to upload cover songs and now this.

It’s getting tougher for musicians to share their music online. It’s all about the money obviously. That’s all they care about is making money out of musicians. Crazy.

Gregg Allman decided to break up the Allman Brothers after all???

Since the sudden departure of the Allman Brother’s longtime guitarists: Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes have left the band for good that left fans wondering about the band’s future. Gregg said in an interview not too long ago that he’s planning to continue on with the band and replace the members but maybe he changed his mind? Maybe he agreed that it’s not the Allman Brothers without Derek and Warren?

The band is billing the new Beacon Shows in NYC as “final” so maybe they are calling it quits soon? That seems appropriate. I can’t see the band continue on without Derek and Warren. No matter how many guitarists replaces them, no other guitarists will top what they did with the band. Derek and Warren were pretty much the main stars of the band.

The band had a good 45 year run. Gregg’s health hasn’t been so great recently so maybe, it’s a good idea for them to hang it up. It doesn’t look like Dickey Betts is getting back with the band either which is sad.

If the Allman’s are calling it quits, I’m sure Gregg won’t quit playing. He’ll continue on with the music with his solo career. Warren will continue on with the Gov’t Mule band and Derek will probably continue on with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. The guys will move on to other projects.

I’m sure an official announcement of the band’s breakup will be coming soon.

Jay Carney quit to follow Guided By Voices tour???

The band, Guided By Voices, is making claims that Jay Carney quit the White House job so he can follow the band’s tour. Jay Carney is a huge fan of the band as you can see him introducing the band at their concert in D.C.

Maybe Jay just wants to move on to something better and to do something more positive???

I still think something happened between him and Obama that made him want to leave, though. If Jay wants to tour with the band instead of working in the White House, then kudos to him. Seriously. Jay deserves a better life than to get controlled by the Obama administration.

He probably did get overwhelmed by lying to the American people so much. He couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to do something with himself.

Led Zep drops rough mix of “Whole Lotta Love” from the upcoming remasters…

Led Zep dropped the rough mix of “Whole Lotta Love” from Led Zep II remasters, the deluxe editions. It’s different from the original recording. There’s no guitar solo in this version ’cause remember, it’s just a “rough mix”. They add in the guitar solo and all of those weird amp noises in the final cut.

I do love it, though.

I’m looking forward to getting the remasters. The first three Led Zeppelin remasters will be released June 3rd which is next week. The remasters for all 10 Led Zeppelin studio albums are all done, they’re just releasing a little bit at a time. I’ll probably end up getting all of them being the Led Zep fanatic that I am.

Happy 73rd, Bob Dylan!!!

I was never that big of a Bob Dylan fan but I do respect him as a legend and all that. I never bought his records too much. The only albums I own of his is a greatest hits album and that Christmas album he did. That was about it.

Even though I’m not much of a fan, I do find it amazing that he’s still doing his thing musically especially at 73. Age is not stopping him. Bob Dylan still releases records on a regular basis and he still tours pretty heavily too. He’s got a new album out this year and he’s got a big tour in support of it.

This man will be releasing records and touring ’til he’s dead, trust me on that.

Happy birthday, Bob!

Chad Smith and Will Ferrell drum-off thoughts…

I don’t like Jimmy Fallon anymore ’cause he’s gotten so annoying as of late and he still is. Why is he annoying as fuck? Because he does all of these lame performances with celebrities like the rapping with Brian Williams, history of rap with Justin Timberlake, and all of that lame garbage. Plus, when Jimmy has musical guests on his show to end the night with, Jimmy will jump in and perform with them. Jimmy gets himself in the spotlight almost all of the time and that’s why he’s annoying. He’s a nice guy but he really needs to leave his ego at the door and let other stars a chance for the spotlight.

At least Jimmy didn’t get himself in the middle of the Chad and Will drum-off battle. So kudos to him on that. It was better seeing the Chilli Peppers jump in on it instead of Jimmy.

I know Chad and Will look almost exactly alike. They look the same pretty much, almost like twins but I can still easily tell which one is which. The way you can tell is that Will is much fatter than Chad. Another way you can tell that Chad is the better drummer, of course… lol. It was too predictable that Will was gonna win the whole thing as soon as he took out the cowbell but still this was an entertaining as hell segment.

This was probably the best thing Jimmy did on “The Tonight Show” ever since he took over. I did laugh and the episode was funny as hell as I predicted it would be.

Now you know exactly why NBC was in a hurry to get Jimmy to replace Jay, right? Jimmy helps brings up the ratings, that’s why.

I think Chad and Will should star in a comedy film together. Wouldn’t surprise me if that would be happening soon.

Jimmy Page debuts Led Zep remasters at live event in Paris today…

Man, I would have loved to travel to Paris just to see this event. That would be amazing!!! I tried to listen to the live stream on my Ipad but the live-stream sucks up here. I did hear a little bit of the new remasters from Led Zep II and III. What I heard was extremely impressive! They definitely sounded different than the original Led Zep albums.

Not a lot of fans know this but Jimmy Page is a master in the studio. This is one of the things that he is so underrated at. He gets a lot of recognition for his guitar playing, of course but it’s his recording and producing that is overlooked the most. If you read Jimmy’s interviews in the past, the man took the studio very seriously. He knows exactly what sounds he wants out of Led Zeppelin music. He certainly didn’t fuck around for sure!!!

Without Jimmy Page’s masterful producing and recording skills, Led Zeppelin wouldn’t have become legends that they are now. Their records would have been shit if somebody else recorded them.

I think I’m definitely gonna get the remasters. People accused them of a “cash grab” with these remasters but after thinking about it a while… I disagree.

This is just Jimmy’s way of keeping Led Zep’s legacy alive. There’s a ton of new generation of music fans who probably never heard of Led Zeppelin and I think that’s the point of the remasters to help attract newer people to their music. Plus, the longtime fans of Led Zep can celebrate the music again with these new remasters. I’m definitely looking forward to them!

I’m sure the Paris live event will be all over youtube soon so I’ll get to watch it then.

Led Zeppelin sued for plagiarism again but this time for their anthem, “Stairway to Heaven”…

Throughout the years of their career, Led Zeppelin have always been accused of ripping off songs by other musicians claiming they wrote it first. Even regular music fans have accused the band of stealing songs. Led Zeppelin have also been sued many times. I remember blues legends, Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters both sued the band. I think Willie Dixon was victorious over the lawsuit, though. I remember back in 2010 a folk singer sued Led Zeppelin accusing the band of ripping off, “Dazed and Confused”.

This time, a band by the name of Spirit have sued the band accusing them of ripping off the opening intro for “Stairway To Heavens”. Fans argued that “Stairway” is very similar to Spirit’s song, “Taurus”, which this is nothing new. This has been a debatable topic for decades.

In defense to the band, I don’t think Led Zeppelin stole songs or ideas at all. I call it “borrowing”. It’s called inspiration. Looking after the music you loved over the years. I’m tired of people accusing Led Zeppelin of stealing song ideas. Where was the outrage when classic rock bands like the Doors, the Beatles, and the Stones did the same exact thing??? A lot of bands are copy cats out there, don’t fucking accuse Led Zeppelin.

That’s the problem with Led Zep. The more legendary and the bigger the band gets more and more greedy musicians will sue the band accusing them of something. Why? Because that’s it, other bands & musicians are greedy. Why sue them now when they should have done it a long time ago??? Other bands accuse Led Zeppelin as a way for a money making opportunity or they are just pissed that Led Zeppelin is more successful than them. Take your pick.

Sometimes in songwriting, when you write a song… it might sound like another one but you never heard the other one before. Sometimes plagiarism happens by accident, ya know?  Coincidence is probably the correct word I’m looking for and I’m calling it that.

I’m impressed with Hetfield’s cover of Beatles, “In My Life”… screw the haters…

I think James Hetfield did an incredible job performing acoustic by himself which you don’t see that much. As usual whenever it comes to James Hetfield and Metallica, there’s always mixed opinions. People will start being opinionated jackasses and all that shit. What’s new when it comes to Metallica? This isn’t Metallica. This is James Hetfield solo!!!

I think he did a great job.

It showed that he has talent and he can really sing. No lip syncing there at all. He’s got the good head voice and sings the high notes well. He also sung with heart and passion. It also shows that he is more than just metal and heavy music. This is a softer side of him.

I think James should consider doing a solo career. He should do a solo album. I don’t see him doing that anytime soon since he’s heavily focused on Metallica but who knows. Maybe James will consider a solo career whenever Metallica is done?

Haters are gonna hate. I never listen to ’em.
