Boston lockdown thoughts…

So I was watching some of the coverage of the Boston lockdown on CNN. Social media brought up the fact that two young kids from a different country could possibly be the, “suspects”. They were walking around the streets of Boston with suspicious looking backpacks on, just before the bombing happened. One suspect already died by a police shootout and the other suspect whose name is, Jahar, is still on the run.

Am I seeing all this correctly? Wait… time out —

Whether you agree with it or not, these two young kids are innocent until proven guilty, but of course, in this day and age it seems to be the other way around. So, a couple of kids walking around the streets of Boston — who could possibly have an Islamic/Muslim background — with backpacks on makes them immediately guilty? It seems that when something terrible happens, the blame is almost always on a foreign person. Someone who is not from the United States. The other suspect escaped and is out in hiding. I don’t want to speculate or jump to conclusions (and you shouldn’t, either) but just imagine how it would make us look like if these two didn’t turn out to be the bombers after all? What if they weren’t responsible? From the sounds of things, they don’t sound like they were responsible. They seemed like they were good kids according to their friends and family members.

Why would two kids would want to do something, big and risky as this? If they were really the bombers, why would they show themselves in public? When people commit bombings, they almost always stay on the down low. They wouldn’t show themselves publicly. Most bombs are usually planted when there is no one around. You have to be really smart committing a crime like this. I just can’t see two young kids doing something risky as this.

If they did turn out to be the bombers after all — if they were proven it — then they had to have some other help. Other intelligent criminals who knew a lot about bombs. You get the picture here? I’m not defending these two. Just being realistic.

If these two turned out innocent, once again, you have to look at how that would make us. After all the lockdowns. The police raids in every home and all the law enforcement work. All that stuff over nothing. The police killed an innocent kid over nothing. That would make us look bad more than the terrorists who did this. See what I’m saying?

On top of this, the news media covering the lockdown is shit. CNN, WNYT, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, etc. They’re all garbage. Stick microphones in peoples faces and harassing the suspects family. It’s crazy — ALL OF IT! Peoples homes in Boston are unfairly being invaded, not giving them much privacy — which is disrespectful, in my opinion. I was watching the coverage of the lockdown and I had to turn it off ’cause the news was making me sick.

Somebody obviously did the bombings but I don’t think it was these two. This is why I don’t watch the news anymore ’cause they’re simply shit. Garbage. The news media should take their microphones and cameras, stick ’em up their asses.

EDIT TO ADD: Corrected a few little mistakes, I’m sure there are more grammar mistakes, but I did my best to write this.

Cool Video: Showtime confirms, “Dexter – Season 8”, is it’s last season…

Sad. Two of my favorite shows on TV are ending completely this year. They are: “Dexter”, and “Breaking Bad”. It’s sad that Dexter have to end this soon ’cause I believe there is much more of a story to be told. There is too much more. Just before Season 7, I remember Michael C. Hall almost retired from the show but Showtime talked him out of it by offering him a deal he couldn’t refuse so he can come back for two more seasons. Michael really wants to move on from this show and he’s finally decided has had enough. I can’t blame him though. He’s been working on this show for years, and he is probably all burned out. He wants to move on to other projects.

Here is a clip from the Season 8 premiere. The clip features Dexter having this bizarre conversation with his adoptive-sister, Debra. Debra and her usual potty mouth. She’s been like this throughout most of the show over the years. Her constant “F Bombs” is what makes her character awesome.

It is going to be interesting to see how Dexter is going to end, though. Will Dexter give himself up and turn himself in or will they finally catch him? Maybe Dexter will get killed off before anything even happens. It’ll be interesting, and I’m looking forward to it. Sad this is the last season. One of my favorite shows on TV. Michael C. Hall is a very talented actor; he deserves to move on to better things.

Happy 75 years, Superman…

Today officially marks the 75th Anniversary of Superman. The first Superman “Action Comics” was published: April 18th, 1938.

Superman is over hyped for a lot of reasons. First of all, the character means so much to so many people — including me. Secondly, the character just rules and he is the king of all superheroes. I loved Superman ever since I was a kid and still love him now. Watched all the Superman movies over the years, the George Reeves TV show, and all the Max Fleischer cartoons. Of course, I read a lot of comics as well.

What mattered to people the most was the Superman films; most notably, the films with Christopher Reeve who helped made the character more iconic. Chris Reeve will always be the best Superman of them all. Nobody will be able to top him ever. Not even Henry Cavill or Brandon Routh. I thought “Superman: The Movie” and “Superman II” were both amazing films but “III” was pretty good — “The Quest For Peace” was garbage. Then comes “Superman: Returns” in which Bryan Singer directed; that film was okay but needed a lot of improvements and the script was a mess.

Here comes the new Superman flick, “Man of Steel”, directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan. The trailer was released this week to help celebrate the 75 years of Superman. I can’t wait for, “Man Of Steel”. I’m sure it will be a Superman flick that will make all of us fanboys happy.

I’ll post the trailer again.

Grammar study…

I’m not sure if some of you have noticed, but I’ve been changing my writing style to this blog a little bit. How, you may ask? I’ve been studying Grammar and English on my own. There’s something, I need to study for, and I just want to make my writing style a little better. Over the years, I wanted to make my writing style just simple and easy to read. I never took the grammar part, that seriously ’cause when you’re posting on the internet; grammar really doesn’t need to be taken seriously by people. I’m going to be taking building sentences more seriously, use of punctuation, expand my vocabulary, etc. I just want to improve my writing to the next level. I have bought a book that teaches you better Grammar, and I’ll be buying more books. I have also been studying Grammar on the internet as well. I’m studying real hard. My grades in English class in high school were decent, but I want to do my best and perfect my writing style, so I’m going to be using my blog to practice my skills. Perfecting my grammar is necessary, if you want to attract more readers to your blog and if you want people to take it more seriously. Another reason is, I’m thinking about getting back into fiction writing. Want to write a book someday. Something I’ve dreamed of doing for years.

BREAKING NEWS: Senate shoots down Obama’s, “Background Check”, proposals…

Today’s an exciting and joyful day, for gun lovers all across, America. The Senate has shot down, Obama’s, proposals on background checks for gun purchasing at gun shows, and on the internet. Sure enough, the President is angry, and crying about it. Accusing the Senate of “politics”, and accusing gun lobbyists, and it’s allies, lying about the bill. The Senate did the exact right thing, by respecting the 2nd Amendment. “Well-regulated”, doesn’t mean control or change. It means well-trained or well-disciplined. Look it up yourself. Also, what part of “shall not be infringed”, do people not understand? If you disrespect the 2nd Amendment, you are a traitor to this country.

This is not really about putting guns in the hands of every American; it’s about respecting the Constitution. That’s what this is about. That’s what the Senate did. The world doesn’t revolve around, Obama, just because he’s President of the United States. He’s all about power, and ego. His response today, totally shows it. It’s not a shameful day in, Washington. It’s actually a good day.

More on the story, here.

Album Review: Go The Weasels “AARP”…

AARP

I got this album by a band called, the Weasels, in the mail, so I thought I would give this album a review.

The Weasels, are a rock band from the Albany area. The bands members include: Doctor Fun (lead singer, keyboardist, saxophonist, and he plays a variety of other instruments), Roy Weasell (electric, acoustic guitars, keyboards and other instruments), and Chris Graf (keyboards, bass, and other instruments). On this album, they also collaborated with other musicians such as guitarists Chuck D’Aloia, and Eric Finn. This album also has contributions from saxophonist, Brian Patneaude, and Sarah La Duke who provided some vocals.

This would be considered the band’s 6th album, and the album has a total of 15 tracks. The album has 60 minutes worth of music. As for what styles are on the album? Well, from what I’ve heard, there is a combination of different genres. It can have something for everybody. If you like tight rock songs with jamming riffs and blistering guitar solos, you will hear some of that. If you like folk, and bluegrass type of songs, you will hear a little bit of that — especially, a song like, “Invasion of the Body” — which is a great tune. You will also hear a lot of jazz, and jam band type of stuff.

Dr. Fun’s vocals — whatever his real name is — an be catchy to listen to. He also creates interesting vocal harmonies. The lyrics on the album can be pretty humorous, and you can sing along to a lot of these songs, pretty easily. The lyrics on the album seem to be telling a story. Each song tell a different story. Some of these songs can be politically-driven — specially, a song like “Do The Teabag” — which is one of my absolute favorite tracks. In my opinion, I think, “Do The Teabag”, is one of the best songs on the album; along with, “Invasion of the Body”. In fact, all songs on the album are great. The lyrics has some of the best lyric writing on an album, I’ve heard in a long time. These guys certainly know how to write them.

The album has pretty tasty guitar solos — which all guitar players should love. The guitar solos on the album, is one of the big things on it, that will keep you listening. The leads are pretty musical, and it seemed they were improvised. Who ever the lead guitarist is on the album, certainly knows his stuff.

While I do love every song on the album, the tracks to watch out for are: “Invasion of the Body”, “Do The Teabag”, and “The Wailing Song”. I think this is one of the best local albums, I’ve heard in a long time. I don’t know how often these guys perform live, but they need to play live a lot more often. If they get themselves out there more, they could become something, HUGE. There is something special in this band, and I’m a new fan. After hearing this album, makes me want to listen to their first 5 albums. I listened to, “AARP”, like 3 or 4 times. These guys are cool!

Cool Video: Full length, “Man of Steel”, trailer is finally here!!!

This looks like a pretty amazing movie. Will we finally get a great Superman movie, we’ve all been wanting for years? Will Zack redeem himself with this one? So far, this film is looking pretty amazing. The music played through the trailer, is the new music composed by Hans Zimmer.

I love how Lois tries to give him the Superman name, but then they cut it to a different scene right before she said it. Look like we’ll have to wait for the movie itself for her to say the “Superman” name, in full.

It does look like a realistic approach to the character, though. It’s about time, too! Wish Christopher Reeve himself was still alive to see this movie going on. I’m sure he would have loved it too! Enjoy all! I’m psyched. I’m definitely gonna be there for this one.

Update on Ozzy & Sharon split…

Ozzy just put out an official statement on his facebook saying that, he is not divorcing Sharon. Apparently, Ozzy has picked up alcohol and drugs again…

From Ozzy’s facebook page:

For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.

I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans.

God Bless,

Ozzy

Isn’t it pretty ironic that Black Sabbath fired Ozzy for being a drunk and drug addict years ago, now he’s back with them again? Maybe Ozzy and Sharon are living in separate homes just for the safety of his family.  The guy is an asshole, admittedly, and he has a short temper. Always had.

Brock talks about Ozzy & Sharon possibly divorcing…

I was going to post about this yesterday, so I thought I would do this today. I hate celebrity gossip and divorce news, but considering Ozzy & Sharon are an important musical couple, I thought it was worth posting about. The reason these two matter in the music business is because they helped the metal industry become more popular and more mainstream. Sharon was the one who helped start Ozzfest with Ozzy, and she helped take his solo career to the next level. She was also the one who recruited Randy Rhoads, to be Ozzy’s guitarist. She did a lot to help the metal industry, love her or hate her. I was never a big fan of Sharon myself, honestly.

Ozzy first met Sharon at the age of 18, while her father Don Arden, was managing, Black Sabbath, at the time. When Ozzy was fired, from Sabbath, Sharon took over her father’s management company and began to manage Ozzy, to get his solo career going. Over the years, Sharon and Ozzy would fight constantly but they still managed to stay together, anyway. Both of them were addicted to alcohol and drugs in their younger years.

I believe Sharon used Ozzy, so she can get fame and fortune, herself. She succeeded with her goal, and now she’s the world’s most famous music mogul, and reality TV star. It all started from the beginning when they were kids. She manipulated her way into getting it. She had a goal that she wanted, for her own future, and she would use Ozzy to get there. Around the time, Sharon started dating Ozzy back then, she wasn’t a celebrity, and now look at her. She wasn’t a celebrity up until, “The Osbournes” TV show, which lasted only two seasons (which I watched both of them sadly). “The Osbournes”, also made her kids famous, Jack and Kelly. Ozzy and Sharon, also has a third kid together (Aimee), but she didn’t want anything to do with the show,  so she was smart enough to stay out of their fame. Ozzy hated the TV show idea at first, and he wasn’t gonna go with it, but Sharon talked him into letting it happen.

She was obsessed with getting rich and famous. She didn’t get there over night, though, it took her years to get there. That’s why she couldn’t stay away from Ozzy even though the two never really got along over the years. If Ozzy never dated Sharon, then Sharon would still be nothing now. The same for Ozzy’s solo career. If Ozzy never dated Sharon, then Ozzy wouldn’t have became a big solo artist.

I honestly stopped caring for Ozzy, after he did, “The Osbournes”, TV show. After that, his music career went downhill, and he is looked at as a celebrity, rather than a rock star. Even Ozzy himself admitted his mistakes with the TV show, and regretted it, through interviews over the years. He wished the show never happened. With all this being said, I hate Sharon Osbourne too. The woman is evil. Probably worse than, Yoko Ono. While I can’t stand most of the Osbourne family, the only one I like and admire is, Kelly. Kelly is actually pretty cool. Plus, Kelly’s music is actually good, and she’s not a bad singer. She’s an inspirational and heartfelt girl, but as far as Jack goes, he’s a big douche.

Ozzy is better off without her, and I hope he’s finally starting to realize that she is evil. Even though, I’m not a big fan of Ozzy anymore, I’m still looking forward to the new Black Sabbath album. I’ve always been a big fan of Black Sabbath during the Ozzy era.

Rant: Are we going to have bomb control now???

I was gonna post more on this blog but since the events at Boston earlier today, I wanted to hold off on the blogging a little bit. While the events at Boston for the Marathon race was horrible and it was tragic; My heart goes out to the people of Boston, it just shows how hypocritical our government can be. This proves my exact point that no matter how you make the gun laws tougher, and no matter how you change them, people will always find their way around violence. Quite honestly, I think who ever did this, wanted to respond to all the gun control nonsense. I’m sure this wasn’t Al-Qaeda related (at least, I hope it isn’t, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it is), it is probably some lunatic gun fanatic responding to 2nd Amendment rights. So the Obama administration makes gun laws tougher, and now this happens. See what’s wrong with the picture on gun control? Are we going to get bomb control now? Yes, bombs are already illegal, but see how this makes the government a bunch of hypocrites?

It’s a shame what happened today, but today’s tragic events is just further proof that America is fucked. People in social networking sites are going, “How could people do this?”. Well, that’s why criminals do these things. They do it to upset people. 3 bombs were blown in that area with possibly even more bombs all over the place around Boston.

Violence is not gonna stop people. No matter how hard the government tries to make us safe. There are dangerous and evil people everywhere. America is not a friendly and lovable happy go lucky country everyone wants it to believe.

How are they going to stop people from making or bringing bombs into this country? YOU CAN’T. There’s no way you can stop ’em. Just like you’ll never stop gun violence, even if you do take guns away from us. People will always find their way around violence, no matter how tough the laws get.

We’re gonna have to get used to all these tragedies if our government doesn’t get fixed up. Even criminals are upset at our government, not just us.

Prayers do go out to the people of Boston, though. It is heart breakin’, don’t get me wrong.
