My top 10 Favorite Soundgarden songs… and some of them aren’t their radio hits…

I have been a Soundgarden fan for years. Like I said in a post before, they were an important part of my high school years. The grunge movement was big in the 90’s but I was in high school during then. During high school, I was listening to a lot of music. Mostly metal and hard rock kind of stuff. Soundgarden has always been my favorite band and they still are.

Here are my top 10 favorite Soundgarden songs in no particular order, I just love these songs and they don’t have to be their hits either. There will be some songs that many people will not know about, their obscure songs, ya know?

I would suggest you give these a listen yourself. After you hear all these songs, you would then realize why Soundgarden is very important to us in the rock world. They always wrote tight music.

Here we go, my top Ten favorite Soundgarden songs:

(“Badmotorfinger” is a great album but these are the two best songs on it. These two songs are probably the heaviest songs Soundgarden has ever written. The riffs in both of these songs are sick and so are Chris’s vocals)

(This song came from one of Soundgarden’s earlier albums before they got big. Another pretty heavy song with great riffs and great vocals. Their second album, “Louder than Love” was really good shit too!)

(“The Superunknown” was Soundgarden’s best album in their career but these were my favorite songs on it. “Black Hole Sun” was a beautiful song, don’t get me wrong but I love these three songs from “The Superunknown” even more. “Mailman” gives me goosebumps each time, I would say that song is the heaviest on the album. “My Wave” and “Fell On Black Days” are pretty heavy too. Chris was one of the greatest rock singers ever.)

(The critical reception for “Down on the Upside” wasn’t receive very positively but I still think it’s a great album. There are some pretty heavy songs on it. These two songs are my favorite off the album. “Blow Up The Outside World” and “Overfloater” are both powerful songs and give me goosebumps each time I hear ’em.)

(A lot of people thought “King Animal” their latest record was a disappointment, I thought it was a great album. I liked every song on it but these two “Blood on the Valley Floor” and “A Thousand Days Before” are the best tunes on this album. Chris really showed his singing talent in those songs)

Enjoy the listen!

Soundgarden is probably gonna announce a breakup soon but will they still release one more studio album??? They probably will…

So Soundgarden didn’t play Rock on the Range over last weekend. They took off the rest of their tour dates on their official website too:

Live

So there’s a few signs that the band is probably gonna announce a breakup real soon. They’re pretty much done, I think. They can’t go on without Chris Cornell being the band’s main frontman ’cause Chris is Soundgarden. It’ll be a mistake for the band to continue without him.

Even though it’s looking like the band is gonna call it quits due to Chris’s passing, will they still release another studio album? That’s a definite possibility and I can see it happening ’cause the band was working on a new studio album before Chris died. I don’t know how many songs the band completed before Chris’s death but hopefully they have enough for a full length album.

I would think Soundgarden will release the new studio album ’cause they know that’s what Chris probably would have wanted. Soundgarden releasing the new album would be a nice way for them to tribute Chris and they would probably do that. I hope they do release the new album and they’re probably gonna.

When will the surviving members do a little tribute for Chris on the Soundgarden website? I’m sure they’re gonna do something. They probably need more time to grieve and then they’ll do something for Chris when they’re ready.

What will the new Soundgarden album sound like? Will they go back to their heavy & hard rocking stuff or will it sound more like “King Animal”? A lot of fans said “King Animal” was kind of a disappointment but I loved the album. Soundgarden was another one of those bands who was not afraid to sound different every album and I would think the next album will be different once again.

If Soundgarden doesn’t have enough material for a full length album, maybe they’ll release those songs for a Greatest Hits album or something? They’ll figure something out.

Even though Soundgarden is pretty much done, I’m sure the surviving members: Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron would move on to other projects. Matt would probably go to Pearl Jam full time but I don’t know what Kim and Ben are gonna do, though. They’ll probably start new bands of their own. For right now, though, the boys need to find out what they’re gonna do with their next album.

They’ve been silent since Chris’s passing which is understandable but I’m sure we’ll hear from the band soon.

Media & NeverTrumpers that bash the Trump family for wearing all black at the Vatican… did they forget that Michelle and Barack did too???

michelle-obama-800-11

Fake News Media and the NeverTrump crowd is at it again. Doing whatever it takes to make the Trump family look bad. There are a couple of different memes going around FB that picks on Melania and Ivanka for wearing all black and wearing black veils on their heads.

Doing a little digging, I see that Michelle Obama did the same when she met with the Pope at the Vatican.

When you want to meet the Pope at the Vatican there is a strict dress code in order to do so. You see Ivanka, Melania and Donald Trump wearing all black ’cause that’s part of the dress code at the Vatican. It’s like a traditional kind of thing, ya know?

Sure, Melania and Ivanka didn’t wear Hijabs in Saudi Arabia ’cause the Saudi’s gave them the permission that they didn’t have to wear one if they didn’t want to.

It’s just that it is required to wear all black at the Vatican, even men have to wear an all black suit.

I think the NeverTrump crowd knows all this but they are just being ignorant and dumb about it. They just love picking on the Trump family, that is all. The funny thing is, the NeverTrump crowd gets all over Donald for treating women horribly but the NeverTrump crowd treats Melania & Ivanka horribly. They should look in the fucking mirror when they accuse Donald of treating women horribly.

Fake News Media wants to make the Trump family look bad over wearing all black at the Vatican, how come they’re not showing the pic of Michelle and Barack wearing all black? Amazing how one-sided these assholes continue to be. I really despise the NeverTrump crowd.

The mainstream media has been “Fake News” long before Trump became president… “Fake News” started because of Obama…

While it’s nice that a lot of people finally woke up about the mainstream media (or MSM), I knew that the MSM was fake long before Trump became president. The MSM has been “Fake News” ever since Obama got elected in 2008.  I even knew back then I couldn’t trust the media. The media has been trying to make liberal politicians look like they’re good people when they’re not.

They tried to make Obama look like an authentic person when he’s not. The media helped elected Obama when we never knew much about him. His birth certificate is fake and yes, it already has been proven many times that the media ignored. Obama has loads of sealed records that we can’t see and he won’t release. We don’t even know if Barack Obama/Barry Sotero are his real names either. We never knew anything about the guy but the media helped elect him anyways. Obama is not the guy that the media tries to make him out to be.

The media has already been “Fake News” for almost a decade now. For the 2016 elections, they tried to do that with Hillary. Tried to make her look like a good person when she’s not really but this time America woke up and they failed to get Hillary elected. Most Americans finally woke up and didn’t fall for their bullshit.

You guys know that I’ve been bashing the media for a long long time and I still can’t stand the media now. I don’t watch the news on TV anymore and don’t even read the papers. Mostly all liberal biased garbage.

It’s nice to see that America has finally woken up about the media:

Poll: Majority says mainstream media publishes fake news

I’ve been trying to warn you guys about the media for a long time but all you guys did was laugh at my face and continued to believe everything they say. NBC, CNN, The WaPost, The NYTimes, Media Matters, etc. Seriously, ya’ll STOP following that garbage. The news lost all credibility. There aren’t real journalists anymore except for a few of them. There are still real journalists around like Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report, I consider that credible news and of course, we have Wikileaks. There’s a few real journalists left on FOX News too like Sean Hannity who’s in trouble by the left over the Seth Rich investigation. Hannity’s the real deal, always liked that guy. I trust Matt Drudge and Wikileaks more than anything, though. They report real news without the bias.

The media sucks, always did. They have gotten much worse under Trump as president, though.

I’m not lying when I say that I don’t watch the news on TV anymore. I don’t watch that much TV anyways. The only stuff I watch on TV are stuff on Netflix, WWE Network and I watch WWE RAW on Monday nights. I also watch movies on BluRay and play video games too. I don’t watch a whole lot of cable TV ’cause it’s all junk mostly. I spend most of my time playing guitar and making music anyways. That’s what I prefer to do more.

It’s real sad that many out there continue to watch the news on TV and actually takes them seriously. What will it take to end the liberal bias garbage in news reporting? It’s getting out of hand and so sick of it.

America wants fair and honest reporting, that’s why most of us go to the Drudge Report, Wikileaks and Sean Hannity. They are the real deal. Screw everything else. Yeah, even Breitbart News is getting bad.

Why I have been listening to a lot of metal these days…

Metal is my favorite genre to listen to right now. Why? It’s pretty much the only good genre that’s out. The music industry is going downhill and not much good music out there lately. Most pop music sucks. Most rap music sucks. Most country music sucks and yes, most of today’s rock music sucks as well. Metal still seems to be coming out with a lot of good music lately. That could explain why I’ve been listening to so much heavy music.

I’ve been listening to bands like Opeth, Amon Amarth, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Venom, At The Gates, Burzum, Avenged Sevenfold, Ensiferum, Ghost, Gojira, Death, The Scorpions and bands such as those.

There are more metal bands I want to listen to and check out that I haven’t yet… bands such as Mastodon, Testament, Exodus, Carcass, Behemoth, Deicide, Suicide Silence and many more bands to name.

I also listen to metal music ’cause that’s where the best songwriting is. I love the guitar playing, the singing, the lyrics. I just love hearing heavy guitar sounds and enjoy hearing bands playing really tight music. That’s the kind of stuff that I like. I listen to all sorts of music but metal is my no. 1.

A lot of people don’t know that I listen to metal but I do. I have been to metal concerts before, yes. I am a metalhead even though people may not think it. I have no problem wearing metal band t-shirts as I do have a few of them and want to get a lot more

Metal is awesome. Listening to metal helps make me feel better and get things off my system when I listen to it. As a musician, that’s the kind of music I want to play myself and it’s why I had to get a new electric guitar so I can play metal. As soon as I got that new guitar, I started studying and practicing rock & metal guitar right away. I spend hours on the guitar trying to figure how those metal guys play this stuff and it’s coming along quite well. I can play headbanging music and when I’m ready I’ll show you what I can do.

I’ve been listening to metal for most of my life really and it all started when I started listening to Twisted Sister when I was a kid in the 80’s. I couldn’t stop playing the Twisted Sister vinyl, “Stay Hungry” which is an album that I still love. Metal will always be an important part of my life. It’s just cool music to listen to. If other people have a problem with that, I don’t care. I listen to music that I like and what I want to.

I’m definitely a true metalhead ’cause if I weren’t I wouldn’t have listed Burzum, Venom or At the Gates. A fake metalhead wouldn’t have known who those band are.

Tom Cruise confirms, “Top Gun 2” is happening and might start filming next year…

While promoting “The Mummy” overseas, Tom Cruise dropped the big news that “Top Gun 2” is definitely happening and Tom says it’ll probably start filming next year. Which is good news ’cause the first Top Gun film is definitely one of my favorite films of all time and it’s definitely one of Tom’s best films in his career.

The question is will the original cast reunite for the sequel? Kelly McGillis? Val Kilmer? Tom Skerritt? Skerritt needs to come back ’cause I would like to see the return of “Viper”!

Kelly McGillis is aging, she’s almost sixty now but I think a reunion between Maverick & Charlie would be so cool. She’s gotta come back!

I’m not into romantic movies much but “Top Gun” is good. I do have the first movie on BluRay finally. Picked it up last year.

Zack Snyder backs out of directing “Justice League” film after suicide of his daughter…

“Justice League” director Zack Snyder is going through a bit of a tragedy himself. His 20 year old daughter committed suicide back in March. Why did he make this news public for the whole world to see now? Well, he wants to help bring awareness to suicide which seems to be a problem more and more these days.

Zack and his wife had to pull out of filming ’cause they’re going through some difficult times. Joss Whedon immediately stepped in to finish the rest of the film.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/zack-snyder-raises-awareness-suicide-prevention-family-tragedy-1006958

Sad. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Snyder family too. I don’t think you’ll see Snyder directing a movie for a long time. He’s probably gonna take a long hiatus from Hollywood.

Most of the “Justice League” movie is pretty much finished, the article says that Whedon needs to film additional scenes and do the post-production part of it. Post-production meaning editing, special effects, sounds, musical scores, etc.

I am looking forward to seeing “Justice League”, though. Can’t wait to see it. I’m sure it’ll be way better than “Man of Steel” and “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

There are good Muslims and bad Muslims, I just realized that after Trump’s visit in Saudi Arabia…

Like most conservatives, I used to believe that all Muslims are bad people but after seeing Trump’s visit in Saudi Arabia… my thoughts on Muslims began to change. I thought to myself, Muslims in Saudi were surprisingly very kind and nice to the Trump family… maybe Muslims aren’t all that bad? Not all Muslims are bad. Just some of them. There are peaceful Muslims and there are “radical” Muslims too so there is such a thing as good Muslims and bad Muslims.

The good Muslims don’t encourage violence and killing of innocent people but they let some of their religion get “radicalize”; therefor, some Muslims becoming evil and they let it happen. Trump’s message to Muslims that he urged the good Muslims to drive the evil Muslims out.

Even Piers Morgan happens to agree with Trump on that and I really like this write-up:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4534558/PIERS-MORGAN-refuse-believe-knew-ANYTHING.html

Yeah, there are good Muslims out there, I just wish some Trump supporters and conservatives would stop painting all Muslims like they’re bad people. Some of them are bad but not all of them. Islam is peaceful but “Radical Islam” is the problem.

I agree with Trump and Piers, it’s finally time for the good Muslims to speak out about “terrorism” and they need to help fight terrorism too. That’s why Trump gave them an arms deal so they can “drive” out the terrorists.

What happened at Manchester was sickening and we really need to destroy Isis pretty badly. “Radical Islam” and ISIS are the two reasons why we elected Trump to begin with. You would think the Manchester concert attack would be good enough for liberals to wake up but of course not. They will always be blind, ignorant and dumb. Always worried about offending Muslims and calling Trump supporters “Islamophobes”, “bigots” or “racists”. Nothing new here, y’all.

I’m not a big fan of Ariana Grande’s music at all but my thoughts and prayers go out to her too. Glad she’s okay and glad she’s safe. Hope that taught her a good lesson that Islamic terrorism is real. God bless the UK. We really need to take out ISIS pretty badly. It’s what we voted Trump for pretty much. It’s not that hard to understand.

I’ve been keeping my focus on guitar playing, could explain why blog is kind of slowing down…

Since I got my new electric guitar, I’ve been keeping my focus on that. Spending most of my time working on music. Practicing music, learning it and making it. I work on both. I practice trying to make my singing better too. I work on both singing and guitar. I want to be good at both singing and guitar.

I am loving electric guitar a lot, though. I wish I spent years of my life playing electric guitar instead of acoustic but I’ve played acoustic for like 20 years. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never give up the acoustic… I just want to do something different finally. See if I can play rock music and metal. Stuff I’ve always wanted to play.

As for singing goes, that’s going real good too as I notice my voice is getting a lot stronger. Getting more range. I was trying to discover my vocal range, see what range my voice is in and I was pretty surprised that I can sing up to one octave. I can sing up to C to C easily which is awesome and didn’t think I can do that. That’s as high as I can sing for now. My goal is to sing real high someday and I’m working on that. As much as I want to be a good guitar player, I want to sing good too. You can tell that I’m working on both very hard and practicing a lot.

Trying to post on the blog more but I’ve been focusing on music and other things. Enjoying life and all. Trying to stick with the fitness too. Admittedly, I slowly backed away from bodybuilding to do boxing and yoga instead. I didn’t give up bodybuilding but I did slow down on it ’cause I know boxing and yoga will get you in shape.

I’ve been spending lesser time on the internet doing other things. I’ll try to post more when I can think of things to post about.

All the Chris Cornell band tributes start coming in… they’re all good but…

While I’m enjoying all these rock bands tributing Chris Cornell, the only thing though that so many of them try to sing like him but it’s impossible to do. Chris was quite a singer and had quite a range so it’s gonna be hard to sing like him. In fact, nobody can sing like Chris. There maybe a few singers out there that maybe pretty similar but nobody could copy Chris’s singing voice.

Singing Chris’s songs is hard to do… even I tried it. Whether you try to sing Soundgarden songs, Audioslave or his solo material, you’ll never reach his extremely high notes. Nobody will ever be able to sing like Chris, ever. Chris was totally unique and was a total original.

All these bands do a good job but the vocals man, that’s the thing, even Ann Wilson seems to be struggling when she was trying to sing “Black Hole Sun” on Jimmy Kimmel. (see video in youtube) Chris was that type of singer. He touched all of us with his singing, even me. I listened to Chris’s music throughout my whole life pretty much.

Chris may have been a liberal guy politically but still he was very talented and plus, Chris was a cool guy. He was one who didn’t ram his political opinions down our throats. Kept his focus on the music.

I think the best Chris Cornell tribute I’ve seen so far was Train’s version of “Black Hole Sun”. Train killed that. I’m not a big Train fan but Patrick Monahan is a great singer. I might get into Train music more.

Will I do a Chris Cornell tribute video? Thinking about it and probably will. Trying to decide whether I should do a guitar cover or a vocal cover. Probably a little bit of both.
