BREAKING NEWS: Simon West is replacement for “The Expendables 2” director!!!!

Several months ago, Sly announced the shocking news that he will not be directing “The Expendables” sequel. He wanted to give a different director an opportunity to make it a better film. A search for a replacement has been a long one, but Millennium Films have finally found their guy!

Millennium announced, Simon West, (director of such movies as “The Mechanic” remake, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, “Con Air”, etc.) will take over Sly Stallone’s job as director.

Yes, Sly himself is returning to star the leading role as Barney Ross, of course. Deadline also confirmed the cast from the first movie is also returning. Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, and Jet Li are all set to return. I’m pretty sure Arnold and Bruce will return too. Hopefully a LONGER role for Arnold too, not just a cameo.

Deadline, reports.

Simon’s a good film maker. I liked, “Con Air” and “Tomb Raider”. I haven’t seen, “The Mechanic”, remake yet, but I will rent it from Netflix soon.

I’m pretty sure Sly and the gang will add more iconic tough guys to the cast. Hopefully they get Jean Claude Van Damme and Kurt Russell. Dwayne Johnson too. They would probably get more UFC stars as well.

I loved the first “Expendables” movie but it had some problems. Hopefully the next one will have more of Jet Li fighting, ’cause Jet Li only had like one or two action scenes in the first one.

My fitness routines becoming more recognizable locally…

In my local area of Greenwich, I am becoming more recognizable as a fitness person more. Thanks for facebook, for making that happen. In my personal facebook page, I would post daily fitness tips, giving people advice locally on health & fitness. I just see all the things that goes on at the Greenwich Y and then I’ll talk about it in facebook. Well my Greenwich YMCA discussions in facebook has grabbed the attention of the staff that works at the Greenwich Y. I was just told today that somebody that works there at the Greenwich Y has been showing the rest of the staff members there my facebook postings on fitness and all that stuff. I’ve heard they’ve been loving what I do.

That made me proud. I had no idea they were paying attention, so I walked out of the Y today after my workout in a good mood after hearing that. The better shape you become and the smarter you get in “health & fitness”, you’ll get a lot more respect from people around you.

So that’s a pretty good chance that I could get a job at the Greenwich Y if I am lucky enough. I sent an application there not too long ago but never heard anything back, but maybe they will contact me soon, after this. Hopefully.

I’m not looking to be a full time fitness guru for the online world or anything like that, I just want to pass along the things I learned in fitness. Hoping to inspire other people to change their lifestyles and get into fitness full time to get in good shape.

BREAKING NEWS: Russell Crowe in talks to play Jor-El for Zack Snyder’s “Superman: Man of Steel” film…

FINALLY!!!!!!

After several weeks of Superman news slowing down, it’s starting to pick back up again! Oscar award winner, Russell Crowe is in talks to play Jor-El, Superman’s biological father on his home planet of Krypton.

Variety, reports.

The casting for the new “Superman” movie is amazing so far. While I’m sure Russell will do a fantastic job playing Jor-El he won’t be able to top Marlon Brando’s epic performance in “Superman: The Movie” and “Superman II”.

I’m glad the casting for “Superman” is on a roll again.

Hopefully they cast someone for Perry White or Jimmy Olsen next. I would like Al Pacino for Perry White and Jesse Eisenberg for Jimmy Olsen.

Report: Sony Pictures confirms “Ghostbusters 3” is greenlighted for 2013???

Did Bill Murray finally read the script to “Ghosbusters 3”, and he’s actually down for reprising his role as Peter Venkman? A press release was published in the “Licensing Trade” magazine at the Licensing International Expo. in Las Vegas, and somebody scanned the press release to post it on the internet for the rest of us to see.

Check it out, here!

As you all know, Bill Murray has been very critical about “Ghostbusters 3” for a long time now and he wouldn’t read the script even though it was sent to him. Sony revealed they would cancel the third movie if Bill wouldn’t do it.

For now, this is just a rumor, Sony themselves haven’t confirmed this yet. All we can do for now is cross our fingers. Even though everyone is critical about a third Ghostbusters film, I think a third film deserves to happen to close out the trilogy whether you agree with it or not.

Hopefully this news is true and we should hear from Sony soon.

Thought: My thoughts on “Scooby’s Workshop” has sparked controversy with his fanbase…

I wrote this post, two years ago, about my feelings on Scooby’s Workshop. The popular online trainer who has created a very large following of fans from all around the world. His fans have been coming after me for the past couple of years because of that post. They are just trying to defend their bodybuilding hero, no matter what is said about him. What they are mad about is that they think I have accused Scooby of using steroids. You see, in this blog post, I never said that. They took my comments on him way out of context and the whole thing was blown out of proportion. People misunderstood what I said.

Re-read what I posted in that blog post two years ago:

If you want to be into bodybuilding you have to deal with nasty critics. You will be made fun of if you put yourself out there in the bodybuilding world. Of course, people will accuse you of using steroids and of course, people will call you homosexual. It’s a regular thing that goes on with all bodybuilders in the fitness world.

In that post, I never said, “Hey, Scooby uses steroids”. My point that I was trying to make, that if you want to get into bodybuilding and fitness, you will get accused of using steroids by a lot of people. Not just Scooby, I was referring to all successful bodybuilders. Bodybuilders being accused of using steroids is pretty common and nothing new. He doesn’t like being accused of using steroids, but that’s what you get, when you put yourself out there for the world to see when you’re being a public online trainer and all that stuff.

No where in that post I ever said, “Scooby uses steroids”. I’m sure he doesn’t use steroids, but if he turned out that he really does, then it’s no surprise, and it should be no surprise to everyone else either.

Even though I wrote that post two years ago, I still stand by the things I say in it.  I won’t take that post down. Why do everyone take fitness advice from a guy online who goes under an anonymous name of “Scooby”, named after a cartoon character? People claim it’s for protection of lawsuits and other things but in my opinion, I think he’s hiding from something. Scooby is not a hero, and he’s not an inspiration.

His fanbase will defend him and stand by him, 100%, whenever people get critical on Scooby. It’s insane. I don’t need Scooby to help me make my bodybuilding dreams come true ’cause I’m doing a fine job at it myself, thank you.

I will not allow comments in this blog post ’cause I don’t want Scooby’s fans coming here to defend their hero.

Report: Former “Lost” star, Matthew Fox, and Ed Harris joins, “World War Z” film…

The former “Lost” star, Matthew Fox, and legendary actor, Ed Harris, are in talks to star alongside Brad Pitt, for the “World War Z” film. “World War Z” is a zombie apocalypse novel written by Max Brooks. It’s about the US Army going to war against zombies. The “World War Z” film will begin filming later this month.

Deadline, reports.

I’ve never read the book yet, so I think I’m gonna have to soon. I love zombie stories. I’m sure the movie will be action packed, bloody, and very violent.

Cool Photo: Is this Superman’s new “S” shield logo from Zack Snyder’s and Christopher Nolan’s new Supes flick????

“The Licensing International Expo.” is happening in Las Vegas this week and there it teases films from “The Avengers”, “The Dark Knight Rises” and Zack Snyder’s “Superman”. Above you see Superman’s official new “S” shield logo for Zack Snyder’s “Superman”.

Which is way fucking cool. I love it!

I was a little worried that Snyder and Nolan were going to make the “S” logo differently, but it looks like they are keeping the Superman costume the same red, yellow and blue, and the “S” logo will be the same as Christopher Reeve’s.

Hopefully soon, Snyder, Nolan, and Warner Bros. will reveal what Henry Cavill looks like in the Superman suit.

The question is, will they do that at this year’s San Diego Comic Con? That’s what I’ve been wondering myself if Superman and Batman both will be at this year’s Comic Con. According to reports, Superman and Batman will NOT be at this year’s comic con.

More on the story here.

Remember, Superman and Batman franchises have been avoiding the Comic Con’s for years, but never say never. Maybe Warner Bros. will be there to reveal some stuff about Superman and Batman out of no where to surprise the fans. The Comic Con events are always full of surprises, you never know what will happen at those things.

Back to Zack Snyder’s “Superman”, I’m sure he will stay true to the franchise and you can already see it with the logo above. Zack knows what he’s doing, he’s a huge Superman fan like most of us, so I don’t think he’ll fail this movie at all.

Tomorrow is a big release day!!!

Two HUGE releases are set for tomorrow. Yes, the “Superman – The Motion Picture Anthology” comes out on Blu Ray (It’s for Blu Ray only, the new “Superman” set won’t be available for DVD, I don’t think) and “Duke Nukem Forever” video game both hits the shelves tomorrow.

Yes, I plan on getting both of these. I will get the “Duke Nukem” game first sometime this week.

I do plan on getting the “Superman” Blu Ray set but I’m going to wait for several weeks to save up cash for it, ’cause obviously the “Superman” Blu Ray set is very expensive. I really want it really fucking badly though ’cause you all know that I’m such a die hard Superman fan. The Superman set looks fantastic. The Superman set doesn’t only have the 5 Superman films which includes Bryan Singer’s “Superman: Returns”, it also has a bunch of Superman animated films and a few documentaries. Plus I heard the sound and the picture of the 5 films is way better than regular DVD. I’m so definitely getting the Superman set sometime, not right now though.

I’m excited for “Duke Nukem”. Glad the release date is staying for June 14th and not being pushed back anymore. The game is finally here! I fuckin’ love “Duke Nukem”, man. Used to be obsessed with the older games back when I was in high school. Used to play the older games on the PC for hours.

The new “Duke Nukem” game will probably sell pretty well. So will the new Superman Blu Ray set.I am noticing that Blu Ray discs are becoming way more popular than regular DVD’s. DVD sales are dropping while Blu Ray sales are going up. I would like to start a Blu Ray collection and buy more but they are pretty pricey. I want to get the Superman Blu Ray so maybe that’ll be the start of my Blu Ray collection. I do have a few Blu Rays. The only Blu Ray discs I have in my movie collection are “WWII in HD” and “Memento – 25th  Anniversary”. I could buy all my favorite movies on Blu Ray and sell the same film on DVD to get rid of it.

I’m just waiting for the prices on the Blu Ray discs to drop down. The prices will drop, the more popular Blu Ray gets, just give it time. It will happen. That’s what happened with DVD when DVD first came. DVD’s were very expensive when they were first invented but DVD prices dropped the more popular they get. Same will happen with Blu Ray.

Cool Video: In honor of Clarence Clemons…

Sad news about Clarence Clemons but I’m sure he’ll recover quickly. While I’m a big fan of Bruce Springsteen’s music, everyone knows that Clarence Clemons is the only member worth paying attention to in the E Street Band. In my opinion, he’s the only true E Street Band member who is most recognizable than the others.

Little Steven Van Zandt, Patty Scialfa and Max Weinberg maybe well known members as well, but Clarence is the superstar of them all.

It’s Clarence’s amazing sax playing is what makes “The E Street Band”. If Clarence dies, then the E Street Band wouldn’t be the same without him.

Things I’m trying to improve on as a guitarist…

Some people call me a pretty good guitarist and some say I’m great, but to be honest, I’m not that great of a guitar player that some think I am. I think I am okay at guitar playing but I still have a lot of work to do and learning.

For example, I have a lot to learn on music theory. I’m still trying to get better at ear training and improvisation. I’m trying to understand time & counting the beats in music by using a metronome. There’s so much shit I have to learn.

If I want to form my own band, I need to get better. Understanding time signatures and beats is pretty important in music. I need to learn how to keep up with time in music if I want to play with a drummer and that’s what I’m trying to get better on.

I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years now and I’m not a professional guitarist yet, but I’m working my way up there. If other people think I’m a professional, that’s great, I’m flattered to hear it but I’m not even close to it.

It is my goal though is to become a professional and not be looked at as an amateur. It takes years to get up to that level of playing. I’ll probably end up forming a band soon anyway ’cause I learned that playing with other musicians helps you play better.

In the past, when I was younger, I actually tried to audition for bands. Really I did, but I didn’t make any of the bands I tried to audition for. That’s why I stuck with being an acoustic solo act over the years, so I can get my own musical project going. If I can’t get in on any other bands, I’ll start my own thing.

I just want to be a better player. Be a guitar player like all the heroes that I looked after: Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Satriani, Neil Young, etc. While I do want to play professional like them, I do want to have my own style, of course.

Just wanted to be real on my talent. Most musicians think they are talented, all the time, but you gotta be real with yourself.
