Thought: Why no Batman/Superman news announced @ SDCC???

Well, SDCC has sadly came to a close. The exciting and fun convention is now over. Do you want to know what’s even more sad? Christopher Nolan or the Warner Brothers team never came to reveal big Superman/Batman news. 😦 Just like everyone else, I too was looking forward to some big announcements on Superman/Batman. It never happened. Keep in mind, that the SDCC from the past never did anything on “Batman: Begins” and “The Dark Knight” as well, so go figure. So why don’t Christopher Nolan ever bring his Batman or Superman work to Comic Con to celebrate with fans?

Does it have to do with ego? Does it have to do with money? Maybe a little bit of both, ha! There are better reasons why Warner Bros. will not bring Superman/Batman to SDCC.

One of the reasons, Batman and Superman are both iconic and legendary characters. All the stuff that you see at SDCC, the movies being celebrated there are not as huge as Batman and Superman are. The reason for Batman and Superman not being there is because, the two characters would overshadow all the other stuff being celebrated. Another reason for no Batman and Superman is because, it’s too expecting and too exciting. WB’s don’t want to reveal Batman/Superman stuff there ’cause it would get the whole convention all excited. The SDCC is the wrong place for it because it’s too early. Everyone wants to know about the new Batman and Superman flicks. If things were revealed this early, then it would ruin the excitement. They feel it’s better to leave things unpredictable.

I mean, think about it. When the Dark Knight came out, Heath Ledger was revealed to play the Joker shortly after the SDCC around that time. That news shocked the whole world. Imagine if they announced Heath Ledger playing the Joker at SDCC that yaar. Can you see how it would screw things up? Warner Bros. wants to reveal news on both films when ever everyone is not expecting it. That’s how you make a surprise. Announcing it at SDCC it would ruin that surprise ’cause everyone would be expecting it.

These are some reasons why Warner Bros. is forcing us to wait longer for Batman and Superman news. I’m sure they already picked a villain for both films already, they are keeping quiet about them until the time is right. They want it to be huge. It’s a marketing plan. It’s all about marketing. It wouldn’t be good business if Batman and Superman took over the SDCC conventions.

Just be patience everyone, a villain for both Batman and Superman will be revealed when ever everyone is not expecting it. I’m sure we will know more about both films later this summer, hopefully in August.

Finally saw “The Runaways” biopic, last night, brief review…

So last night, I finally saw, “The Runaways” biopic. Saw it on the Movies on Demand PPV things. The movie wasn’t that bad. The film did kind of stay true to the “Runaways” story. It was more of a Cherrie Currie biopic more than the entire film itself ’cause the film concentrated on her character more. It’s no Joan Jett biopic at all even though she’s part of the film. The film didn’t really go in depth of The Runaways history. All they concentrated on were how crazy the girls were as teenagers. They all mixed sex, drugs and rock n’ roll into one. It showed how manager, Kim Fowley formed the band and all that, but the film mostly focused on the lesbian relationship between Joan Jett and Cherrie Currie. Joan was played by Kristen Stewart. Cherrie Currie was played by Dakota Fanning. It shows Cherrie’s obsession with David Bowie and how she wants to be like him as a performer. I was hoping it’ll focus on the music but the film turned out to be a soap opera.

I can understand why the soap opera was needed to explain why the Runaways career was short lived, but I wished the film focused on the music more. Yes, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning had quite a few make out scenes. The questionable thing is Dakota is 15 and Kristen is 20. So how did film makers get legal permission to do scenes like that is pretty questionable? I’m sure they had permission with Dakota’s parents to let them know that the underage lesbian kissing was just for the movie.

I actually thought the film was pretty good, I just wish the writing was better. Maybe this is a sign that Joan Jett will get her own biopic in the future. Kristen and Dakota’s acting was really good in this film though. Kristen’s acting is better outside of Twilight, in my opinion. This is a must see film if you like Joan Jett. It’ll give you insight on how Joan Jett is still huge and famous today.

BREAKING NEWS: Harrison Ford shows at San Diego Comic Con early today!!!!

Wow! Is this year’s San Diego Comic Con CRAZY or what??? First Angelina Jolie appears on Friday. Saturday, we get the guys from the Expendables and that includes Bruce Willis.

And who’s the next big legend to make his debut at SDCC? Yes, Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, who is now a happily married man! Harrison is at SDCC to promote “Cowboys & Aliens” with Jon Favreau and Daniel Craig.

I wonder when Christopher Nolan will show up at SDCC??? He hasn’t shown up yet. If he did, it would have been all over the news. Maybe Chris Nolan will show up at SDCC on the last day to give Batman & Superman news? We all hope Chris would show up, maybe he will tomorrow. I’m positive he will, he would dissapoint fans if he decided not to show at all.

Thought: About the Darth Vader bank robber in Long Island, my take on it…

So Darth Vader came to invade Earth ’cause he needed money for a new lightsaber. I know bad joke, but why would an obsessive Star Wars fan rob a bank with a Darth Vader suit on? This news story has created some controversy today. Why would a robber do this? For laughs? For attention? Maybe a little bit of both, definitely, but he didn’t just put on a Darth Vader suit for nothing. There is a better reason why he did it.

Simply put, it was a smart way for a clean get away. The reason for the Darth Vader suit was that, there needed to be some kind of distraction for the customers and the bank tellers behind the counter. Would there be some kind of crowd reaction if he just walked in with a ski mask or any other type of Halloween mask on? No. The people would know that he would be robbing the bank immediately, they would get scared easily and might call the cops right away.

So what would be the best costume to walk in a bank to confuse people that it was just for laughs and entertainment? He has chosen the Darth Vader suit for that reason. He would walk in, people would laugh for a while. It’s a trick so that the customers or bank tellers won’t call the cops quicker. It was a laugh for a while, but when Darth walked up to the bank teller and pulls out a gun, it’s no joke anymore.

Empire music plays, “You don’t know the power of the darkside”.

So what if the bank robber did walk in with just a ski mask, paper bag over his head or any other Halloween mask? He wouldn’t last long in there. What the Darth Vader guy did was a smart way to rob a bank (seriously). Most bank robbers would just walk in with or without a mask, and the police would be after them in a flash. The Darth Vader suit was a different way to do it.

It may have been pretty funny and comical, yes, but the robber obviously wanted it comedic to create a distraction, to get away faster, I repeat. Btw, using Darth Vader’s gloves wouldn’t leave his finger prints on things. He used a Darth Vader mask so his head wouldn’t be seen ’cause if you wear a regular mask, people can still see you through your eyes. The black eyes on Vader’s helmet covered his eyes completely.

The only mistake that this Darth Vader robber did was the camouflage pants he was wearing instead of Vader’s rubber pants. Police maybe able to figure out who he is easily with those camouflage pants. He’ll probably be caught sooner or later, but not this quick. The first thing law enforcement will look at are those camouflage pants.

Hope I got my point across.

Report: Stallone bashes Tim Burton/Michael Keaton “Batman” movie, claims the film destroyed the 80’s action hero era…

A lot of people love Tim Burton’s and Michael Keaton’s collaboration of “Batman”, but Stallone has some harsh words to say about the film, he is definitely no fan of the first “Batman” movie. Why? Because he thinks the film is responsible for big muscle guys in actions movies fading away for future films. The action movies in the 90’s did stay away from muscle guys. Muscle guys in action movies were huge in the 80’s but it began to die out in the early 90’s.

Read what Stallone have to say about it here:

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-sylvester-stallone-blames-batman.html

Sorry to say, but I actually agree with Sly. I’m not agreeing with him just because I’m a huge fan, I’m agreeing with him, ’cause I’m being real. I’m no fan of the first “Batman” flick with Burton/Keaton either.

Thank god, we have Christopher Nolan to save the Batman franchise! He knows how to do Batman right, Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher can’t! Sorry!

So Sly actually did try to get Chuck Norris for the film? Jeez, it makes you wonder what’s up with Chuck Norris these days? Did Chuck retire from the entertainment industry for good? No new films, no new TV shows, no new fitness commercials, etc??? Really, Chuck, where are you? The internet constantly talks about Chuck all over the place still and we’ve heard nothing from him? WTF? Come back, Mr. Norris, we miss you!
