Report: NBC unveils “The Jay Leno Show”…

Since the shocking announcement that Jay Leno is staying put on NBC, the peacock station just revealed more details on the new show. The name of the show is simply titled “The Jay Leno Show”. Like I said in a post before, the show will be basically the same thing as “The Tonight Show”. Making jokes about current news, two celebrity interviews and a musical guest. Guitarist Kevin Eubanks and the rest of the “Tonight Show” band will stick with Leno as well.

When Conan makes the move to “The Tonight Show” replacing Leno, I wonder if Max Weinberg the drummer and his band will move along with Conan or will they stay put at Jimmy Fallon? I would hate to see Max Weinberg and Conan O’ Brien apart, it would be weird to see, and I hope NBC keeps them together even if Conan is moving to “The Tonight Show”.

Max Weinberg friggin rules, he’s funny as hell and plus he’s one badass drummer.

Report: Coldplay responds to Joe Satriani publicily very briefly…

Since Joe Satriani spoke publicily about his lawsuit against the band Coldplay, the band Coldplay themselves wrote a statement on their official website, responding to the Satch very briefly.

The band Coldplay denies ripping off “Viva La Vida” from Satch’s song “If I Could Fly”, and claims it was coincidental. The band asks the Satch to accept it for what it is and to move on. The band respects the Satch as the legend he is and they have nothing personal against the man either.

From Coldplay’s official website:

http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=242

I actually agree with Coldplay that it’s coincidental. I mean, when you’re writing a song, you never know if your song will sound exactly like another song out there. It’s because the world of music is so strong and powerful, that it’s so hard to write a song that is not similar to other music. Writing songs that sounds similar to other songs happens all the time. It’s pretty normal.

I don’t see the Satch dropping the lawsuit against Coldplay. Satch will want to fight this thing. Can I say that Satch is a bit jealous of Coldplay? Did the Satch sue Coldplay out of jealousy?

Coldplay is a band that sold millions of records every album they did while Joe Satriani was only huge for one album which “Surfing With the Alien” is Satch’s most popular album, it was the album that made Satriani big and famous anyway. Satriani’s other albums weren’t big sellers.

Come on Satch. Have a heart around Christmas and catch Chris Martin a break. Chris and Gwyneth have a family for Christmas and Satch shouldn’t ruin their Christmas by taking everything away from them. Do what’s right Joe, bury the hatchet with Coldplay!! Joe is better than this!

Report: “The Dark Knight” musical score back in the race for the Oscars!!!! :-)

A month ago, the AMPAS disqualified “The Dark Knight” from getting a chance at a nomination, due to five names being listed as composers on the cue sheets.

The AMPAS reviewed it’s information again after being submitted by it’s affective parties, now they are letting “The Dark Knight” get a chance at a nomination. They came to a realization that Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard are the creators of the musical score, not the other three that were named on the cue sheets.

Dark Horizons  reports:

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news08/081209g.php

GREAT NEWS!!!!! 🙂 “The Dark Knight” music score is amazing and it deserves a nomination. Now it’s been accepted for a nomination, I’m sure it will get the nomination. “The Dark Knight” will probably get a nomination on every category.

Speaking of “The Dark Knight”, the DVD/Blu Ray is being released in stores everywhere today. I won’t get my copy today since the Holidays are near, I’ll probably get it under the Christmas tree.

Report: Twentieth Century Fox acquires rights to Alex Greven’s “How to Talk to Girls” to be made into a movie…

If you want advice and having trouble picking up girls of your dreams, ask this little guy pictured above and he’ll teach you how to talk to girls better. Since the 9 year old author recently published a book with Harper Collins titled, “How to Talk to Girls”, is creating controversy in the media. Twentieth Century Fox,  just nabbed the rights to make the book into a film for the big screen.

Fox hasn’t yet hired a writer or a producer but they already have a plot idea…where Alex Greven is writing the book for a class assignment for his third grade class, to help classmates break the ice with the opposite sex.

You could probably get the first four editions for $9.99 each at bookstores everywhere. The books are not only for children, it’s for men of all ages.

Variety Reports:

Fox is probably going to get Alex Greven to play himself in the movie, I’ll bet your money on it.

This kid is never going to be single when he gets older though. I see him being a big time womanizer and a “playa” whenever he turns 18. Women will be all over him.

Report: Harrison Ford to star in comedy directed by J.J. Abrams and hints at returning to the Jack Ryan role…

Harrison Ford, just announced that he will soon be working on a comedy film with director, J.J. Abrams. It is said that the J.J. Abrams comedy is the same writers who wrote the movie, “The Devil Wears Prada”. Keep in mind, that Harrison Ford starring in comedies is nothing new to him. Some of Ford’s comedies includes: “Working Girl”, “Sabrina”, “Six Days, Seven Nights”, “K-19 The Widowmaker”, and “Hollywood Homicide”. He may either work on the comedy next or the new drama which is about the pharmaceutical industry (Ford is probably reffering to that movie “Crowley”).

Later in this article, Ford is saying that he is very interested in making a return to the Jack Ryan character. A character that author Tom Clancy created. Ford starred as Jack Ryan in both “Patriot Games” and “Clear and Present Danger”.

MTV Movies Blog reports:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/12/08/harrison-ford-joins-jj-abrams-comedy-weighs-another-jack-ryan-film/

I have been wanting Harrison to return to the Jack Ryan role for a long time. It’s fantastic to see that Harrison’s grown interest into playing that character again, when he didn’t have a heart in going back to Jack Ryan in the past. The film makers will definitely give him the Jack Ryan role again as long as he wants it, so I see it definitely happening for sure. 🙂

“Patriot Games” is one of my favorite films of all times. It’s a great action thriller.

BREAKING NEWS: Jay Leno is staying put at NBC late night!!!!

Just when everyone thought that Jay Leno is retiring from TV late night and leaving NBC studios, it seems that Leno changed his mind and the iconic talk show host isn’t leaving anytime soon!!!

NBC announced they will give Leno a deal where he can appear on NBC at the 10 p.m. hour. They also gave Leno a better pay deal as well. Leno is reportedly to make $40 to $50 million a year for his 10:00 p.m. slot. He’ll be able to buy more cars and motorcycles!!!

Jay Leno’s move will be similar to how he usually have his shows. You know, the usual making fun of news reports, interviews with two celebrities and a musical guest. Jimmy Fallon will take over Conan O’ Brien when Conan moves to an earlier hour on March 4th.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117997051.html?categoryid=14&cs=1

Jay will never retire, he’ll be doing late night ’til the day he dies. What a copout!!!! I don’t like Jay Leno that much and I was hoping that he would be gone but nope. I think Conan’s the best late night host, I watch Conan all the time. Conan makes me laugh, Jay doesn’t.

Kev

EDIT TO ADD: On a side note, the only reason NBC is paying Leno more is that they are doing whatever it takes to make him stay at NBC. NBC doesn’t want him to leave.

Report: Joe Satriani speaks out on the Coldplay plagiarism lawsuit publicily…

The legendary guitar virtuoso shredder, Joe Satriani, speaks out for the first time publicily, defending his lawsuit against the band Coldplay for ripping off his song “If I Could Fly”.

The Satch claims he has no negative grudges against the members of Coldplay, he’s just trying to protect his own music. He also claims, he’s warned the band before and wanted to talk with them privately, but Coldplay ignored Satriani. The Satch explains that he got his e-mail flooded with fans complaining that Coldplay ripped off Satch. Satch claims he was very upset when he heard the Coldplay hit, “Viva La Vida”. This what gave the Satch no choice but to force legal action against the band.

More on it here:

http://www.nme.com/news/coldplay/41509

Come on Satch, stop being such a whiner. How is Satch going to prove that Coldplay ripped him off? Satriani will need solid evidence. If Satch can prove to the jury how Coldplay ripped him off, Satch would win. If Satch doesn’t have any proof, Coldplay wins the dismissal. You can’t just bring the two songs to court and have the jury listen, you’ll need more evidence than that. I don’t think Satch has anything to prove.
