In this photo, Jason Statham got a surprise visit from fellow actors, Sylvester Stallone and Donald Sutherland. For your information, Sly already worked with Donald in a film once, called, “Lock Up”. Report: First, “The Karate Kid” remake…now Will Smith is moving forward with the “Annie” remake starring his daughter, Willow Smith…

Announced today, Overbrook Entertainment has teamed up with Sony Pictures to work with Will Smith and Jay-Z on bringing an “Annie” remake to the big screen. They have already signed, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett’s daughter, Willow Smith to play the leading role. In the 1982 original, Aileen Quinn, played the Annie role, it looks like Willow will be playing that role. Oliver Warbucks was played by the great, Albert Finney.

Read the full story at, Deadline.

So what we’re getting is an “Annie” version for blacks? There will be rap and R&B songs being sung throughout the film? That’s what it’s looking like.

What black actor will land the Oliver Warbucks role? It wouldn’t surprise me if Will Smith himself signs on that to that role. Wonder how they’re gonna do the B&O Bridge scene at the end of the movie? They will obviously change the “Annie” name of the leading character, to give it a black feeling.

I’m not trying to sound like a racist or anything but I don’t like this idea. “The Karate Kid” remake they did was actually a very good movie, but this one is going to suck. I used to be obsessed with the “Annie” movie when I was a kid. Used to watch it all the time. Do the black people really want an “Annie” remake? This might be popular with black children, but the adults I can’t see them getting into this.

Jimmy Buffett, had an accident while performing during a concert in Sydney, Australia at the Hordern Pavilion. While he was performing the song, “Lovely Cruise”, he fell off the stage, onto the floor face first into the front row. He was bleeding badly and was out cold for a little bit. He was taken to the nearest hospital 30 minutes later. It was said that he was distracted by the bright stage lights.

Read more on the story, here. See the shocking video here at, TMZ.

No offense, Jimmy, but I think this is a good enough sign that you’re getting too old for this. Is it time to retire yet?

Getting big chest pecs is probably the most challenging of fitness…

Yes, I would love to get big and massive wrestler size pecs like a lot of men do…but, it’ll take years for me to get there. I try to find different ways to get bigger pecs. I’ve tried bench pressing with a barbell a little bit, but I find that workout boring and overrated. I try to stay away from benching. I try to find creative ways to get bigger chest pecs, by doing dumbbell presses on a bench, incline/decline dumbbell presses or flies, cable cross overs and all that stuff. I’ll mix it up by lifting heavy or light for one day a week, and give the chest a full week rest and the workout the pecs again. It seems to be working as the chest is slowly growing and shaping up. The best thing to do to get bigger pecs is to keep doing what I do. I need bigger pecs so my physique can look right. Trying the best I can though. When the Winter is over, and the Spring is here, I’ll post new progress pics in the future.

It’s been a year and a half since I’ve been bodybuilding. So I’m doing good, no serious injuries or nothing. People mistakenly think that bodybuilding is dangerous, but once you get into it,  you’ll realize that the sport is very safe and very easy. The only thing dangerous about the sport is doing workouts wrong and in terrible form.

I’ve been going to the new Greenwich YMCA in town for the past couple of days. I love the Greenwich Y better than the other gym. Better equipment, the staff is very friendly and professional. I’m so glad Greenwich has a Y now. It’s awesome. It’s what the community needs. The Greenwich Y has gotten popular very quickly, it’s always busy every time I work out there. The Greenwich Y has all the bodybuilding and fitness equipment, except they don’t have kettle bells, workout balls (stability balls, medicine balls, etc.), and they don’t have work out mats yet. The place is new and I’m sure they’ll be getting the rest of it soon, but all the machines are really nice, and they have a great free weights collection too. The Greenwich Y is my new permanent workout home. I’ll be going there tomorrow to train the triceps.

I’m not sure if the Greenwich Y allows video cameras there, I’ll have to find out. I would like to video tape my work out routines at the Greenwich Y, if they let me, I’ll start video taping. If they don’t allow video cameras, I won’t bother.

Oscars nominations…my predictions and thoughts…

Well, Oscar nominations have been finally revealed today. Here they are, here. As usual there are quite a few snubs. Michael Douglas didn’t get anything for Best Supporting Actor and Christopher Nolan didn’t get Best Director.

“Inception” was a very good movie, but to be honest with you, Christopher Nolan’s directing style to “Inception” is really nothing special. Any director can make a crazy special effects movie like that. So his Best Director is not worthy of an Oscar, in my opinion.

While I have a feeling that “The King’s Speech” will sweep everything, I’d like to see “The Social Network” or “True Grit” win Best Picture. I’d like to see “The Fighter”, “Winter’s Bone”, or “Black Swan” to win Best Picture as well, but I don’t think they will. This year’s Oscars will be unpredictable for the “Best Picture” category, but the other categories might be a little bit predictable though.

Here are my prediction winners:

BEST PICTURE – As said above, I’d like to see “The Social Network”, “True Grit”, “The Fighter” or “Black Swan” get it, but we all know “The King’s Speech” will get this one.

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE – Colin Firth for “The King’s Speech”

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE – Christian Bale for “The Fighter”

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE – Natalie Portman for “Black Swan” (Although I would love to see Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams get it, I still haven’t seen “Blue Valentine yet but I really want to)

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE – Hailiee Steinfeld for “True Grit (Though I have a feeling it will go to Melissa Leo for “The Fighter”)

BEST ANIMATED FILM – Toy Story 3

ART DIRECTION – Either “Alice in Wonderland” or “Inception” will get this one.

CINEMATOGRAPHY – “Inception” will get this one, hands down.

COSTUME DESIGN – “Alice In Wonderland”

ACHIEVEMENT IN DIRECTING – Either the Coen Bros. or David Fincher will get this one.

BEST DOCUMENTARY – “Exit Through the Gift Shop” (I haven’t seen this movie yet but want to)

FILM EDITING – Either “The King’s Speech” or “The Social Network” will get this one.

BEST FOREIGN FILM – “Biutiful”

MAKEUP – “The Wolfman”

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE – Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for “The Social Network”

BEST ORIGINAL SONG -“We Belong Together” by Randy Newman “Toy Story 3”

SOUND EDITING – “Inception”

VISUAL EFFECTS – “Inception”

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY – “The Social Network” by Aaron Sorkin

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY – “Inception” will get this one. Even if Chris won’t get Best Director, he should be happy with this award.

There are my predictions. Feel free to agree or disagree.

Thought: My thoughts on “Wonder Woman” returning to the small screen…

So NBC have finally picked up David E. Kelly’s “Wonder Woman” to return to the small screen. It’s official signed and done. I’m sure some of you want to know my thoughts on this so here it is. If they want this to be successful, to last several seasons, then there needs to be good writing of course. Plus, most importantly, they must have an actress to play Wonder Woman/Diana Prince who is hot and sexy looking. The actress must have large boobs and the character must show cleavage.

If they cover “Wonder Woman” up and not let her show skin, then the show will fail. Bad writing, the show will fail. It’ll last for one season like the “Bionic Woman” reboot did.

I hope the show will be successful. I think NBC is doing this to see how popular “Wonder Woman” is today. If the new TV series is a hit, then I’m sure WB’s will get right to work on the “Wonder Woman” film for the big screen.

Hopefully the new “Wonder Woman” TV show will be good. Of course, I will watch the first episode when ever it makes it’s premiere. My question is how will the show be? Will it have action and violence? Or will it be a strictly drama, like “Smallville”?

We’ll have to wait and see how this show plays out.

RIP: Jack Lalanne 1914 – 2011

Jack Lalanne, the man who started it all. The King of Fitness, the master. The one who is responsible for making bodybuilding & fitness mainstream. How did Jack get inspired into fitness? Well as a kid, he was addicted to junk food just like any kid would be. He also had a violent temper back in his childhood. Jack started learning from Paul Bragg, a pioneer at nutrition & wellness, so Jack decided to change his lifestyle at age 15 to eat better and exercise more. After graduating from high school, he took night time classes at Oakland Chiropractic College in San Francisco, and graduated with a Chiropractic Degree.

He invented a bodybuilding machine, called, the Smith Machine, which can be seen in all gyms all over the world to this day. The Smith Machine is used for squats and various other exercises. It was made so it can be safe to use without a spotter. Later in the years, Jack Lalanne hosted his own TV show for 34 years titled, “The Jack Lalanne Show” which he taught fitness, health & nutrition on the the show. He marketed a variety of vitamin supplements, he also invented special devices called, the “Juice Tiger” and “The Power Juicer”.

Later in the years, Jack was inducted into the California Hall of Fame by Governor Schwarzenegger (pictured above). Jack also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Over the years, Jack continued to workout every single day, non stop until the last day before his death.

He is such a hero and inspiration to the fitness world. He is the real hero in fitness. Not Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris or Jillian Michaels. It was all about Jack. Jack has been doing bodybuilding and fitness way before the days of the supplement industry got too commercial. Think about this. If Jack wasn’t around to do what he did for us, there would be no bodybuilding. There would be no Arnold, Sly, Flex Wheeler, Jillian Michaels, Lou Farrigno and all those other fitness people in the media. Jack is responsible for bringing us this. Without him, none of us would be hitting the gym on a regular basis right now.

Bow down to Jack Lalanne! King of Fitness! Thanks Jack. In honor of Jack, I will continue to do my workout routines the old school way like how I’ve always been doing this ever since I started. Even though these video lessons are very old, they CAN still be very useful to this day!

Have a lot to catch up on for this site…

I have a lot to catch up on in the news. Yes I know Jack Lalanne died yesterday, so I will have a tribute for him later today. The reason the blog was slow over the weekend ‘case not much news to post and I pretty much stayed away from the computer, doing other things. I will get back to posting today.

I didn’t post at all yesterday ’cause I was too busy watching NFL Football all day long. 🙂 Yes, I watched both Green Bay Packers/Bears and the Jets/Steelers game. Both games were really good. I’m disappointed that the Jets didn’t make the Superbowl this year, I was hoping they were going to make it too. Oh well, the Jets can always give it another try next year.
