Brock doesn’t care about the MTV VMA’s anymore!!!

So you have to ask. Did the Brock watch the MTV VMA’s last night? NOPE! I did not. I just don’t care about the fucking VMA’s anymore. Everything you see on that show is fake and scripted. Even this whole Kanye vs. Taylor feud is fake and scripted. I don’t take what MTV does seriously. I stopped caring for the VMA’s a long time ago. MTV was good in the 80’s during the hair metal era and the early 90’s during the grunge metal era, but after that, MTV turned to shit. I don’t know why people still watch that fucking station. Not my thing.

So Justin Bieber turns out to be a drummer and he did a drum solo at last night’s show. Oh goody! NOT! I can think of plenty of kids that can play the drums way better than him. Look through youtube and you can see kids from 10-15 playing drums professionally and skilled.

What did I watch last night instead? I watched the Cowboys vs. Redskins game instead. That was better. It was a good game too. I wanted the Cowboys to win, but not too worry there will be plenty more Cowboys games up ahead! I’m sure they’ll do better in the future! I find myself watching sports a lot more often and I’ll probably watch a lot more football this year. I like the NFL. MLB baseball is alright, but I find football more exciting. Fuck the MTV Awards, fuck it all.

In defense of Lou Reed…

Well, it seems that Lou Reed is getting some big negative backlash just because he didn’t want Susan Boyle to sing his anthem, “A Perfect Day”. Reading the comments by fans at TMZ, or perezhilton and other music websites. Lou Reed has been getting so much hate all week. Lou has been called an egomaniac has been, an old washed up loser, people even says no one knows who he is anymore and they even called, the Velvet Underground to be one of the worst bands on planet Earth. Really? Are they serious? Most music fans are siding with Susan Boyle because they feel sorry for her. Do music fans realize who they are hating on? No. I don’t think they realize who they are hating on.

This is Lou Reed. LOU FUCKING REED! This guy is a legend. He’s been in the music business for way over 30 years. This guy’s been playing in rock n’ roll bands since the 1950’s. He didn’t become famous for music until the 1960’s when he formed, The Velvet Underground, with John Cale. Back in the ’60’s when the Velvet Underground got their record deal, their fame was all because of, Andy Warhol. It was Andy Warhol who caught the attention with the music of the Velvet Underground, so he recommended a label to sign the band a record contract. When Nico joined the band, they named their first album after Andy Warhol. That album didn’t do well in record sales but there’s a big part of the legacy of that great record that people don’t understand. After they fired Nico and Andy Warhol, they continued to release albums. They didn’t become mainstream and popular until the album, “Loaded” which was an album full of hits, that album sold well.

Lou Reed had his share of failures and success in his career, but despite of that, the guy accomplished a lot in the music industry over the years. He did so much. Read his wikipedia here, all you need to know about him and the Velvet Underground.

Did Lou Reed get famous over some stupid TV reality show like Susan Boyle did? No. It wasn’t easy for him to get fame. It took him a lot of work to get there. There was no such thing as reality TV back in those days. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Susan Boyle. She’s a decent singer and all, but all those music fans siding with her, don’t understand Lou’s legacy. Lou went through so much over the years. He did way more than Susan Boyle. The people siding with Susan Boyle, I am noticing listen to commercial and mainstream music. Maybe that’s why they don’ t know who Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground are. Kids today would listen to stuff like Susan Boyle, Rihanna or Beyonce, but they don’t understand older classic music such as the Velvet Underground.

I’ve also heard them say the Velvet Underground are terrible. Really? The Velvet Underground were one of the best rock n’ roll bands back in those days. They were fuckin’ GREAT! Lou Reed and John Cale made excellent music. I loved songs they wrote together, like “Waiting for the Man”, “Sweet Jane”, “I’ll Be Your Mirror”, etc. To those who think Susan Boyle is so great, does she play an instrument and write her own songs? No. She sings other people’s songs. The Velvet Underground never did that. They played their own instruments and wrote everything…and the Velvet Underground happened to be , “Rock and Roll” Hall of Famers!

People should respect the legends of music, not trash them. Lou Reed is an amazing songwriter. He’s still doing music to this day. I think he has a reason to not let Susan Boyle sing his song. I think he is clearly trying to protect his legacy. Since, “A Perfect Day” is a well known anthem, maybe he feels it doesn’t need to be performed on a reality show? It might ruin the legacy of the song. I’m not really sad for Susan Boyle, I’m more sad for Lou Reed ’cause a legend like him doesn’t deserve this backlash and he deserves to be respected. It’s Lou’s music, he has the right to do what he wants with it. Lou’s got my back 100%. I’ve always admired the man’s music for many years. I honestly think Lou did the right thing to not let her sing the song. Just my opinion.

Report: Tim Allen to return to primetime television in fall of 2011???

Former “Home Improvement” star, Tim Allen, maybe making a huge comeback to primetime TV in the fall of 2011. In the early 90’s the actor was made famous for the hit sitcom, “Home Improvement”, back in the days when DVR’s weren’t around. After “Home Improvement” was cancelled, Tim Allen went on to become a huge movie star. His first film when leaving “Home Improvement” was the “Santa Clause”, then comes “Toy Story”. He became well known playing Santa and Buzz Lightyear in the movie business. He also starred in a slew of other comedies such as “For Richer or Poorer”, “Galaxy Quest”, “Big Trouble”, “Joe Somebody”, “Christmas with the Kranks”,  and of course, “Wild Hogs”.

Tim is currently working with Greg Daniels, who is one of the writers/producers of “The Office” and “Parks & Recreation”.

More on it here.

Is this a hint that Tim Allen is on his way to NBC? Will he actually have a role in “The Office” or “Parks & Recreation”? Maybe Tim will take over as boss in “the Office”,  when Michael Scott leaves? I’m all for Tim returning to the small screen. He’s a talented guy and funny as hell!

Thought: Another note on Lou Reed’s, “A Perfect Day”…

On a side note, even if it’s true that Lou Reed snubbed Susan Boyle for, “A Perfect Day” song, well, like I always say about an artist and their copyright, it’s his music. If he owns the copyrights and the trademarks. He has the right to control his music how he pleases. He maybe a real dick about it, sure. IT’S HIS MUSIC. He wrote the song.

As for Susan crying about it, this just proves that she can’t handle with fame with music. She doesn’t have what it takes.

“Weird” Al Yankovic tried asking many artists to parody songs from them, and when artists refuses, does “Weird” Al cry? No. He’s strong about it and moves on. He knows that the name of the game with the music business and he knows how tough it’s going to be.

Susan got a lot to learn when she wants to cover songs by artists on TV shows or record them for her albums. As you can see, I’m totally on Lou Reed’s side!

I’m sure Lou will talk soon and can’t wait to hear his thoughts. I’m sure he’ll squash this news and say he respects Susan Boyle’s talent.

Report: Susan Boyle confirms “A Perfect Day” snub, but Lou Reed denies it…

Oh my! This war is getting nasty fast! TMZ reports, that Susan Boyle’s managers confirmed the news is true that Lou Reed, snubbed “A Perfect Day” from her. However, Lou Reed’s lawyers spoke out and said the news isn’t true. Lou Reed’s reps said he wouldn’t do something like this.

See y’all? I told you, Lou Reed wouldn’t do anything like this. I’m sure we’ll hear from Lou Reed himself when he starts doing interviews in the media about this controversy.

Susan needs to get over herself and her ego. Sounds like she’s trying to get more attention off of Lou Reed to promote her own music. Bitch!

BREAKING NEWS: Universal Studios will bring Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” to the big screen, NBC will bring it to the small screen on TV as well…

Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series has finally found it’s home studios to make the books into live action films, since JJ Abrams studio company, Bad Robot dropped out and returned the rights to, Stephen King. What big name studio have bought the rights to the “Dark Tower” series? Why, that’s none other than Universal Studios. The same studios where Ron Howard has been making movies through for years. Universal plans to make the “Dark Tower” series into a trilogy for the big screen, while NBC will make them into TV series as well.

Ron Howard, will be behind both the movies and the TV series of the “Dark Tower” as he is committed to direct the first “Dark Tower” movie for the big screen based on the first novel, “The Gunslinger”. How will they do both the movie and the TV series? The plan is, they will make the first Dark Tower movie for the big screen first, then they will make the second feature into a TV series. I guess that’s how they are going to do it, do the TV series in between the big screen sequels? Nice idea!

And of course, Howard and the crew plans on finding a big name star to play, Roland Deschain of Gilead.

Read the full article, here at Deadline.

Dayam, a full trilogy and then a TV series? That sounds like a lot of work! Now that the “Dark Tower” series is finally on it’s way, I’m sure everybody online will be naming their choices on who to play, Roland Deschain. I’ve been saying that Hugh Jackman should get the role and I still stand by it. Gerard Butler wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

Although, I have a bad feeling that Ron would probably get Russell Crowe, again. I’m sure we will find out who will play Roland soon.

I hope Ron makes these really good ’cause I absolutely love the “Dark Tower” books. I’ve read every single one of them. I’m pretty sure Ron will be working with, Stephen King, himself closely on this so Ron can stay true to the novels. It’s about time “Dark Tower” is being made. Hope they don’t mess it up. This is great news!

BREAKING NEWS: CNN admits Piers Morgan taking over for Larry King is true!!!

After months of many rumours hit the web that “America’s Got Talent” judge, Piers Morgan could possibly take over Larry King Live, CNN admits that the news is true. Piers will be taking over in January. Piers himself released a statement saying it’s a dream come true for him and something he always wanted to do was to take over Larry King.

Pierse doesn’t plan to leave “AGT” as he plans to do both shows, “AGT” and “CNN Live” at the same time, since both shows are in the Los Angeles area.

Oh my! I can see Piers interviewing a lot of competitors from “America’s Got Talent” on his show. Don’t be surprised if the 10 year old opera singer, Jackie Evancho, could be his first interview guest in January.

Report: Yet another SNL star leaving to focus on full time movie career? This time it’s Will Forte’s turn!

Yet, another SNL star is leaving. When former SNL stars leave over the years, they move on to become huge movie stars that they are today. It worked for Steve Martin, Martin Short, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, etc. That’s what happens when SNL stars start to become too famous for the show. They are popular enough to go on to movies. This time it’s Will Forte’s turn to leave for a big career.

I’m pretty sure the “Macgruber” film will get more sequels so he will want to work on that too. He’ll either do more movies or go on a different TV show. I think he wants to focus on a full time movie career and that’s what it’s looking like.

Keep in mind that SNL is pretty much here to help launch comedians huge film careers.

I’m pretty surprised Seth Myers, Fred Armisen and Andy Sandberg are still working for SNL, because those three guys I mentioned are getting popularity pretty quickly. Those guys will leave at some point, I’m sure.

Thought: Why Steven Tyler would make a horrible judge at American Idol…

Yes, Steven Tyler has years of experience with music but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be a good American Idol judge. Why would he suck at being the judge?

Here are some reasons why:

  • He would give positive feedback to any Idol singer that sings an Aerosmith song whether he/she sings it good or bad. If A.I. does an Aerosmith night, Steven would go crazy.
  • If male singers has a rock n’ roll image or if they sing rock, Steven would be all over that as well.
  • Since Steven loves blues music, singers would try to sing the blues just to impress him.
  • Singers would try to steal Steven Tyler’s image: The long hair, fat lips, fashion, etc.
  • He wouldn’t understand today’s mainstream of music. If you knew Steven’s history with music, he was always about old school.  He always listened to really old rock and old blues. I don’t think he would give honest feedback if a singer sang a song by Britney Spears or Katy Perry.
  • Steven’s ego would hurt the other judges and singers.
  • I don’t see him being a mean judge, I see him being a friendly one.
  • If you watch Steven’s interviews on TV and the internet, you can see that he comes up with crazy answers ’cause he likes the attention with the media.
  • He would be smiling and laughing like he always does.
  • I can see him going on and on and on about him comparing other singers voices to his own singing voice.

There you go. We’ll see how long he lasts on the show.

Thought: More “True Blood” vs. “Twilight” talk, which franchise is better???

A lot of people like to argue that “True Blood” TV series is better than the “Twilight Saga” franchise. People think the writing in “True Blood” is better and the acting is better than the “Twilight” franchise. It should be no secret to you, that I’m no fan of “True Blood” and I find the “Twilight” franchise to be better. A lot of people accuse “Twilight” of being a Jerry Springer like soap opera, when the reality is, “True Blood” is pretty much the same thing. The writing is good in “True Blood”? Are you serious?

I find “True Blood” to be very overrated. The writing for the show is horrible for a lot of reasons. I think “True Blood” makes the vampire genre so embarrassing, it’s not even funny. Why??? Does “True Blood” tell good stories? Every time I try to watch the show, I just don’t get it. “True Blood” is more soft-core porn than actual storytelling. Stephenie Meyer’s got the vampire thing, right, ’cause she wants to show that vampires don’t have to concentrate on sex. I don’t understand why people find, “True Blood” so good when everyone complains about soap operas in the entertainment business. Lot of hypocrisy there.

In “True Blood”, the show wants vampire to feel part of this world, while, in “Twilight” Stephenie wants vampires to stay away from humans and be more mysterious. That’s the way vampires should be done.

I think Lafayette making an AIDS burger scene to be offensive, doesn’t make any sense in so many ways. I can go on for hours on how “True Blood” is such a horrible series for vampires but people in facebook are all over this show, talking about it, saying how great it is. Yes, I believe “True Blood” will get it’s own movie for the big screen, once the show is over and done with on TV, like what happened to “Star Trek” and “Sex and the City”. That will happen down the road, I’m sure. I don’t watch “True Blood” ’cause I find it an embarrassment that they turn it into soft-core porn. It’s just as simple as that.

I know vampires are supposed to be sexual, but it needs to be done the right way. Anne Rice does sex with vampires the right way, “True Blood” just doesn’t cut it. Sorry, “True Blood” fans!
