Report: Kurt Russell signs himself another role, will star in “Touchback”…

A while ago, we learned news that Kurt Russell is making a comeback to Hollywood after a long hiatus. He returned by announcing news that he is going to be starring in a supernatural thriller titled, “Undying”. His next role after that, he just signed on to star in a football film titled, “Touchback”, where he will play a football coach.

In the film, Kurt will play a character named, Brian Presley, who is a farmer and fireman. He used to play football himself until an injury forced him to stop playing, so it looks like he ends up becoming a football coach later on.

Dark Horizons reports:

Glad to see Kurt signing on to roles like crazy now! Can’t wait to see him back on the big screen!

Lets cross our fingers if he’ll ever work on a film with Sylvester Stallone in the future!

Report: “Road to Perdition” sequel on it’s way???

Back in 2008, it was revealed that a sequel to the 2002 mobster film, “Road to Perdition” is in the works. The sequel will be titled, the “Road to Purgatory”. Max Allan Collins wrote the script and it was already turned in, but it seems that he is no longer attached to direct.

The story to the sequel will focus on the son of Michael Collins returning from WWII to avenge the death of his father. The first one starred: Tom Hanks, Jude Law, Paul Newman, and Daniel Craig.

Movieweb reports:

http://www.movieweb.com/news/NEhpGHWnVecUlk

The question is, would Tom Hanks return as the lead? Well, he obviously can’t because….”spoilers below”…

SPOILERS from the original “Road to Perdition”

Hanks character, Michael Sullivan Sr., was gunned down at the beach house at the end of the movie.

END SPOILER

Maybe Tom Hanks can return but in a different form. If they can use Michael Sullivan Sr. flashbacks with Tom Hanks playing the character still, or maybe Hanks can do narrated voice overs.

I would also like to see Sam Mendes return to direct the sequel, hopefully he’ll be up for it.

Report: Justin Bieber biopic on it’s way to the big screen, might be directed by Davis Guggenheim?

When the Twilight series is all over and done with, Hollywood is still doing whatever it takes to keep all the tweens entertained. Paramount Pictures has greenlighted a deal to make a Justin Bieber biopic for the big screen. The film will be in 3D and Davis Guggenheim is in negiations to direct. The film already has an official release date for February 11, 2011, Valentine’s Day weekend. Justin Bieber is a tween pop star that is also an internet phenomenon.

Deadline Reports:

http://www.deadline.com/2010/08/paramount-pictures-makes-justin-bieber-movie-deal/

You ask yourself, why does Justin Bieber deserve a biopic film this early, when many other musicians deserve it more than him? Well, that’s because Justin Bieber’s story is worth telling. Do you think Hollywood would do biopic films on Richie Valens, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Doors, etc. for no reason? No. There is a reason Hollywood makes movies on these legendary music stars. It’s not only to bring in money for the box office, but, it’s because that when Hollywood does biopics on bands, they have good enough stories that is worth telling to the whole world.

Justin Bieber’s story is worth telling for a lot of reasons. Everyone wants to know how this kid got into music early and everyone deserves to know how he got his popularity early.

I’m definitely not going to see this movie in theater but if the trailer looks interesting enough, I might wait for DVD on it.

I still stand by it, that his music is not that bad and it’s kind of a guilty pleasure.

Report: Nicolas Cage pulls out of Joel Schumacher’s “Trespass” for a vacation to the Bahamas…

Nicolas Cage is once again sparking some controversy online, with a bit of news that he might of pulled out of Joel Schumacher’s “Trespass” to go to a vacation to the Bahamas instead. He was supposed to star alongside, Nicole Kidman.

Now before anyone accuses Nic of being an asshole for this, maybe he didn’t pull out at all. Maybe they were negotiating with contracts and money, things must of gotten screwed up all of a sudden? Don’t blame Nic for this ’cause he is a professional. He’s been doing Hollywood for over 20 years. I think he knows the business long enough that he knows how to be professional.

If he really did pull out of this movie for the Bahamas instead, hey, it’s America. People do whatever makes them happy. If he wanted a vacation, I can’t blame him, ’cause this man is a hard working actor. He works film after film, non stop. I don’t think he ever took a break. So he needs a much well deserved break in the Bahamas. He’s a rich man, he can do whatever he wants.

Plus, Joel Schumacher is a shit director. The only good movie Schumacher did was, “Phone Booth”. I’m sure Nic himself will speak out on this soon.

Thought: Who should play the young Rambo?

Since Sly is open for the possibility, of a “Rambo: First Blood” prequel where a younger actor would play Rambo instead of him, you’d ask yourself, who should play the young Rambo? I’m pretty sure you’re thinking of Zac Efron, Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner, since those guys are young and buffed, but sorry, I’ll have to disagree. While those kids have great physiques, they won’t fit as Rambo. Why?

Because if Sly is seriously thinking about a Rambo prequel, Sly would have to find an actor that can match his look. The droopy like eyes, those lips, speaking voice, etc.

Sly shouldn’t get a big name for this one. Sly should get an unknown actor for the young Rambo. That’s what he’ll probably do. Since Sly said he’s retired from Rambo for good, this is a clever way for more Rambo but without Sly. A Rambo prequel will be great, it would show Rambo fighting in the Vietnam War, it will show how Col. Trautman made him out to be and all that. So the film would need a younger Col. Trautman actor as well.

I’m all for a Rambo prequel, bring it on, Sly.

Thought: James Toney vs. Randy Couture prediction…

I have been following this James Toney vs. Randy Couture feud online, and I must say, it’s even funnier than the Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin feud. Boxing legend James Toney has been signed to UFC to fight Randy Couture. James Toney has been obsessed with wanting to fight Randy Couture for a long time and Dana White gave him what he wanted. James Toney is a BOXER. Not a mixed martial artist. I repeat, a BOXER. Randy Couture has YEARS of mixed martial arts experience.

My opinion, that I think James Toney is challenging the wrong guy. Randy Couture would fucking destroy Toney. Toney might be able to throw a few hard punches at Randy, yes, but the fight will be over quickly once Toney gets a takedown by Couture, and Couture will give him the chokehold to end the fight. Randy Couture is well known for the chokehold. Randy Couture may seem like a nice, friendly and down to earth guy, but in reality, Randy is a monster when it comes to fighting.

Toney thinks he will beat Couture, which is hilarious. Toney thinks he will be successful in UFC. That’s how boxers are, delusional and they have huge egos as well. Why did Dana White agree to sign Toney even if Toney don’t have much MMA experience? I bet the only reason is to help PPV buyrates. Dana didn’t sign Toney because Toney is talented.

So of course, my money on who to win this fight is Randy Couture. Randy is a favorite fighter of mine and looking forward to seeing him fight again.

UFC 118 looks like a great card. I’m looking forward to seeing Edgar vs. Penn again too.

Thought: About the Chelsea Clinton wedding…

So the internet has been buzzing about the Chelsea Clinton wedding all weekend. My question is why? In facebook, I’ve been seeing statuses written by people about them wanting to go see it. Really? Are they serious?

They are public figures and famous politicians yes, but they deserve peace and privacy just like the rest of us want. I wouldn’t want to go to a celebrity wedding. Imagine how crazy it would be in those type of weddings. You will see rich and wealthy people all over the place. There will be fancy and expensive food that you can’t even afford. Really expensive beer and wines for the reception after. Why go to a celebrity wedding when you don’t know them?

Can you imagine talking to these type of people at a wedding? I don’t think it’ll be as fun as you think. You don’t see the Clinton’s getting in your personal business with your marriage, so you shouldn’t be getting into theirs.

Congrats to Chelsea, I’m not knocking her wedding, I’m talking about real people like us wanting to go to it. I wouldn’t want to go see it ’cause wouldn’t it make you feel a bit uncomfortable hanging with a bunch of politicians and rich people? I know I would hate it. Anyhow, I think Rhinebeck was a horrible location for them to do the wedding. They should have done it in the Clinton’s home state of Arkansas. I am pretty sure Hillary picked that location because she used to be Senator for New York State. I’m not sure, but I think the Clintons still live in New York State. Maybe that is why they picked Rhinebeck.

Thought: Nobody have to be perfect in songwriting…

I’ve been reading, “How to Write Songs on Guitar” instruction book by Ricky Rooksby. In songwriting, the book says that nobody needs to be perfect in songwriting. In the book, it gives you the advice that there are no rules in songwriting. You can write songs however you please. Just write whatever feels good to you. You don’t always have to do the most common structure, “verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus (2x’s)” like most songs are that way, and you don’t even have to make lyrics rhyme if you don’t want to. I’ve read a part in the book where it says that if you feel that your lyrics are bad, then you need to look at most of top 40 songs today, that most of today’s lyrics are horrible. So like I said, music doesn’t need to be in perfection, just write whatever you feel.

I’ve been studying music again to learn theory and improvisation. I want to learn how chords and scales work together so I can play in key without missing a note. Get better at ear training and stuff like that. Learning theory is not that hard to understand, it’s simple to learn. I’m getting the hang of that stuff.

I’ve been listening to my older demo CD I made back in 2006 and listening to those songs, made me realize that I miss performing on the stage.

Oh yeah, I have a facebook fanpage now, feel free to “like” but this page is for true fans who actually do support me and my music. I do have a “fanbase” out there, so I made this page to prove it that I do have a following.  This will be used for my music only. So this is a hint that a Kev Brock comeback to music is about to happen soon.

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=520988130#!/pages/Kev-Brock/291092277809?ref=mf

I’m trying to figure out how to get a music player on there with my songs on it.

Blast from the past, my old demo here…

So I decided to upload my old demo for the internets. I recorded this demo in a professional studio. These songs were written back in 2006. Around that time, I used to gig a lot…but I took some time off of performing so I can improve my music some and get some new songs written hopefully.

I wanna record a new studio demo soon, but need to write new stuff first, of course.

Here is my Reverbnation page with all my songs from the past:

http://www.reverbnation.com/kevbrock

So for the new readers whose never heard my stuff yet, there you go. That’s what I sound like as a songwriter. I hope to get new stuff out soon, I’ve been messing with stuff. Like you hear in those songs in that link, most of the songs are about crime and horror stuff.

Like I said before, I STILL have plans to make my next batch of songs to be political and protest songs, but they will still have that dark energy.

For the old fans that want to hear my music again, enjoy.

Well this was an interesting Q&A session with Sly. That was awesome that he actually answered my question about John Gotti. What is awesome about these Q&A’s that Sly would mention the fan’s name so it can make it look like that Sly is really talking to you

I look forward to seeing “The Expendables” in a few weeks. I’m not interested in “Scott Pilgrim” or “Eat, Pray, Love”. I’m “Expendable” all the way, baby! Can’t WAIT!!!
