Cool Photo: Warner Bros. releases Superman and The Dark Knight teaser poster!!!

Warner Bros. just released this poster yesterday. Now to keep in mind, this isn’t just a Batman poster, it’s Superman as well. Look closely, you can clearly see the Superman S shield on the first building on the left. This means that both Superman and Batman are coming to theaters in the Summer of 2012. So the Summer of 2012, will be a big year for superhero movies indeed! Very cool poster and already psyched for both movies. Yes, I will see both films in theater as I love both characters as well.

It seems we can’t have an honest opinion on music, anymore, it’s sad really…

Whenever I don’t like a band’s music, whether it’s national or local, I usually keep negative opinions to myself these days. Why? Because, if you make opinions public, it’ll piss everyone off, and I’ll get called the badguy for it. All for just expressing an opinion on a band which is all I’ve done. Whether making opinions on their music, videos or image, whatever. Doesn’t matter what I say about a band, I get yelled at.

Usually this happens, when you criticize a popular band that everyone likes. Their fans would have their support and back them up. They would defend that band, no matter the negative things that is said about them. That’s how much of a joke the music world is sometimes.

Yes, there’s going to be bands that I will like and dislike. I’m certainly not going to like everything. Usually, when I discuss music online, I always think there is nothing wrong with expressing “honest” opinions on bands, but the second you say something about a band, it sparks controversy.

I would love to keep discussing bands, however I wanted like I did in the past but I’m done with that stuff. People just don’t understand that’s what music is here for, you either like some of it or don’t. I still stand by a lot of things I’ve said about certain bands in the past, too. I just keep them for myself.

People know there is nothing wrong with being honest about music, it’s just that their fans hate seeing someone else ripping on their favorite band. The fans don’t want their favorite band to feel upset and hurt, so they defend them to let them know they have their support. That’s why fans do what they do.

The irony of this is, people get upset when their favorite band is getting bashed on, yet some people don’t have a problem with bashing my music. You see what’s wrong with that picture? Think about it now.It seems I can’t have an opinion on music and everyone else can. That’s how messed up and weird the music world is. Sometimes I just scratch my head and say “what the fuck” at all of this.

How big of a Jimmy Page fan I am?

When it comes to music, and guitar playing, some people might wonder who are my biggest influences & inspiration. I’m such a huge Jimmy Page fan. How big? VERY! I have studied and listened to his guitar playing for years. I’ve followed his music throughout his career, even all the projects he did outside of Zeppelin, before & after. Everything from The Yardbirds, The Firm, Coverdale/Page, The Black Crowes, his solo album “Outrider”, his duo career with Robert Plant, etc. I”ve followed everything he has done over the years.

I read almost every magazine interview he has done and I try to learn his secrets about recording. Even though he is well known as a guitar player, he is underrated for the work he does in recording and producing albums. As some of you know, he has recorded and produced most Led Zeppelin albums himself. This guy is a genius in the studio. I believe he was the one who discovered “backward echo’.

Also, not everyone thinks Jimmy Page is a good guitar player. Some people accuse him of playing really “sloppy” a lot of times. You know what? I kind of actually agree with that, he is kind of a sloppy player, but the way I look at him though, that he is not worried about being a “perfectionist”. When you want to be a great guitar player, I wouldn’t worry about being “perfect”. Just play whatever’s in your heart and soul, play whatever feels good to you. Guitar playing don’t have to be perfect, right? No.

Jimmy Page is an improvising guitar player. He has a really great ear, and everything he plays, is never really written down, he just wings everything. He’s a great rhythm player, he’s good at making rock riffs and most importantly, he’s one of the best lead guitar soloists out there. He picked up the guitar at age 12, never really took lessons, he was a self taught player.

Jimmy Page inspired me so much, that I wanted to be a guitar player just like him. I love so many guitar players (like Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Dimebag, etc.), but Pagey is my no. 1. If you’ve noticed a lot of my songwriting has been inspired from Page’s guitar playing a little bit. I’ll admit that I borrowed a little bit from him.

I so can’t wait for his website Thursday and can’t wait to see what he has in store for us. I hope it’s something big like a new music project like everyone else is hoping. I have a feeling it maybe something huge. That’s why he did countdown thing early, to hype it up. Get everyone excited and it’s working. Most guitarists and Led Zeppelin fans are getting excited about it. It is probably a new album, whether a solo album or a collaboration. We’ll find out Thursday.

Report: Arnold Schwarzenegger will start filming “The Last Stand” in September…

A while back, Arnold planned on filming his next movie, “Cry Macho”, where he would play a horse trainer, but instead, Arnold put his film career on hold for a while due to his heated divorce with his wife, Maria Shriver. Arnold was going to put his career on hold for a long time, but instead, he wants to get back to work asap. Arnold will next work on the Western film, “The Last Stand”. The reason he’s coming back this soon is because he wants to test to see if he still has his popularity due to his controversy with Mildred whom he impregnated while being married to Maria.

Deadline, reports.

I’m sure Arnie would have nothing to worry about. I’m sure a lot of people still love him. I wish he wouldn’t come back with Westerns or horse movies though. If he wants his respect back, he needs to get back to the genre where he truly belongs, and those are action movies.

Cool Video: Michael C. Hall the man himself briefly responds to “Dexter going after Casey Anthony” rumors…

Michael C. Hall, the star of “Dexter” was spotted walking the streets of Los Angeles, and TMZ stopped him. Of course, they had to ask him if Dexter will kill Casey Anthony.

See the video at, TMZ.

Seems like Michael is not a big fan of the paparrazi although he does seem like a nice guy. Notice how Michael is trying to avoid TMZ a little bit but he was nice enough to answer their questions.

While Dexter is a fictional character, I think it would be pretty cool if Casey Anthony can be written in as a character for an episode of Season 6. Casey Anthony could be played by a different actress on the show.

Cool Video: A look back at the earlier Harry Potter films…

With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 coming out this weekend, Warner Bros. just released this video in youtube giving you a look back at the earlier 7 films. This is a great video Warner Bros. put together. I liked it.

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing “Deathly Hollows part 2” but will see it sometime next week, not this week.

Report: Harry Lennix casted as a military general for Zack Snyder’s Superman “Man of Steel” film…

Over the weekend, a new Superman “Man of Steel” casting has been announced. An actor by the name of Harry Lennix, who can be seen in two of the Matrix movies, “Matrix: Reloaded” and “Matrix: Revolutions” has been casted as a military general. However, this isn’t the military General Christopher Meloni will be playing, a different General. Harry will be playing a character named, General Swanwick. He’s an original character. This character was never in the comics and the other films. While Harry’s character of General Swanwick was made publicly, Warner Bros. is still being secretive on the details of the character.

More on the story, here.

Zack Snyder said this is going to be a different Superman movie than all the others, and it’s starting to show with them adding original characters.

Original characters have been written for the earlier Superman movies before. Ursa was never in the comics and also, Nuclear Man from “Superman IV: the Quest for Peace” was an original character for the film as well.

I should be getting the “Superman: Motion Picture Anthology” Blu Ray set soon. I plan on ordering it from Amazon this week, hopefully.

Netflix Pick (PS3): Let Me In

For my Saturday movie last night, I have finally decided to see the horror flick, “Let Me In”, written and directed by Matt Reeves.

I know a lot of people are fed up with shit vampire films for the last several years. Finally, someone makes an excellent vampire film! Man, was I so impressed with this film or what? Yes I was, I was blown away and at the edge of my seat throughout the entire film.

The film stars, Kodi Smit-McPhie and Chloe Grace Morets, both who are child actors. The film is set in the 1980’s and it tells the story of a young 12 year old boy named Owen (Smith-McPhie) who develops a friendship with a girl named, Abby (Grace Morets). The only thing though, that Owen doesn’t know that Abby is a vampire. Abby’s father is a murderous madman, who would kill people for blood for Abby to feed on. Vampire’s need blood to survive and Abby’s father would do whatever it takes to keep her alive.

Owen is being bullied by three other kids in school, and Abby gives him the advice that he needs to fight back. While Owen is a human boy and not a vampire, Abby vows not to drink blood from him because they were in love with each other. The movie is also a love story.

Enough with the plot. I thought this was the best vampire film in a long time, it was perfect. Just the way a vampire story needed to be told. This is not Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight”, Matt Reeve’s “Let Me In” is a totally different story. It’s much darker, more violent and scarier. Yes, “Let Me In” even kind of creeped me out in some scenes. There is some gore, of course. The movie was unpredictable.

I’m glad I finally saw the movie, so I think I’m going to buy this movie on Blu Ray. I know you’re probably tired of vampire flicks, but I think you’ll like this one. Check it out.

In honor of Tom Hanks 55th birthday, his top 10 best films…

Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors. I’ve followed his career for years. Would try to watch all of his films as much as I can, but to be honest, I’m not interested in seeing, “Larry Crowne”, his latest film that he directed himself and starred with Julia Roberts. It doesn’t look good. I’ll see it on DVD of course, just not in theater. I love most of Tom Hanks movies, but once in a while he can come out with a bad movie or two like “The Ladykillers” and “Charlie Wilson’s War”, those films were horrible.

Here are my choices of Best of Tom Hanks, I’ll name ten of his films in order:

  1. The Road to Perdition – This has always been my favorite Tom Hanks movie, “Saving Private Ryan” and “Forrest Gump” are both good flicks but they are kind of overrated. “Road to Perdition” is the best film he’s ever done, in my opinion. His best role that he should have won another Oscar for.
  2. Cast Away – Another favorite of mine. This film is never boring all the way through. I’ll never get tired of “Cast Away”.
  3. The Green Mile – Another one of his best roles and a bit underrated too. I love this film.
  4. Toy Story 3 – Like everyone else, I think the third Toy Story movie is the best one of the trilogy.
  5. Forrest Gump – This needs to be high on the list, or I would get in trouble if I put it as 9 or 10. Yes, Forrest Gump is a classic indeed.
  6. Apollo 13 – This is the best Ron Howard/Tom Hanks collaboration, in my opinion.
  7. Joe Versus The Volcano – This is my favorite of his comedy era, it’s a really great film.
  8. BIG – Another classic flick, of his comedy days, I love this film as well.
  9. The Burb’s – Another great comedy flick in the 80’s. Corey Feldman’s character is the best part of the film.
  10. The Terminal – An entertaining film, I’ll never get tired of. Even though this film had slight problems in the writing, other than that, a good film. I enjoy it.

Most of his flicks are good but those 10 are my favorite.
