How to change your eating lifestyle from junky to healthy…

Yes, I’ll admit it. I miss eating junk food all the time. Before I started fitness, I was eating all kinds of crap. Junky snacks, fast food, drank a lot of soda, junky breakfast I shouldn’t be eating in the morning. After realizing what I was getting into, I thought to myself, “Man, am I getting a bit old for this? Eating junk food, when this is kid stuff? I need to change my lifestyle and become a man!” So that’s exactly what I did. Changing your nutrition is not that hard.

All you gotta do is think of all the junk food you’ve been eating and think about what better things you should be eating instead.

For example, for breakfast, instead of having junk cereals loaded with sugar or having fatty pancakes and french toast you would want to go for egg whites, Quaker oats (whole grain 100% natural oatmeal) or plain shredded wheat. If you want toast or a bagel, make sure it’s whole grain only.

For lunch instead of having fast food all the time or fatty meals, you would want to have tuna fish sandwich or salmon sandwiches, quinoa mixed with salsa, chicken breast, any kind of fish, etc. Lots of healthy lunch ideas.

For dinner instead of having fast food, pizza or fried foods you would want to have any kind of fish, chicken breast or various meats that are healthy. I’m sure you can think of plenty of healthy meal ideas for dinner.

For snack instead of having potato chips, candy bars, popcorn, ice cream you would to want have fruit, vegetables, %1 lowfat cottage cheese, almonds, and lowfat greek yogurt.

There, you get the idea. If you want to have a better nutrition you just need to look at your past mistakes that you’ve made and figure a way to make them better. For those out there who have a junk food addiction. Give this a try. Before you put a candy bar in your mouth, think about what you should be having instead, should you be eating a grapefruit or a banana?

Thought: Chris Brown breaking a window at “Good Morning America”…

I’m sure people want to know my thoughts on Chris Brown losing his temper again. Breaking a window and going mad at the “Good Morning America” studios, in his dressing room there. It’s obvious the law didn’t teach him anything. He’s going to be the same madman no matter how much help he gets. This is further proof that he will beat up someone again. Even worse, he could have beaten up that woman who interviewed him at “Good Morning America”, if he wanted to. Think about why he went back to the dressing room after the interview. He knows he couldn’t lay a hand on her, the interviewer.

Of course, nobody pressed charges on him and I’m sure that won’t violate his probation. That is what fame does to people. They get away with everything. The guy needs to be locked up.

What’s even more messed up, is that Chris Brown still has a lot of die hard fans that will support him, no matter what. Those idiot fans of his need to get out of their fantasy worlds and realize that their hero is not to be supported. They are supporting a woman beater. They must think beating women is okay.

Film Review: “Battle: Los Angeles”

Starring: Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez

Directed by: Jonathan Liebesman

Today, I decided to go to the mall for something to do. Check out a movie and do some fun shopping. I’ve been wanting to see this film for quite a long while and finally got to today. On with the review…

Plot/Synopsis: A man named Sgt. Michael Nants (Eckhart), who just retired from the Marines as a Staff Seargent, enjoys life in his home city of Los Angeles. When the city learns that they are about to get themselves in an alien invasion, Sgt. Nants is forced to go to war once again. This time, he will fight an army of aliens instead of humans.

Well, I’d have to say that this film was pretty interesting. People can get confused on what genre this movie is in. People say it’s either an action film, sci fi, or a war film. It’s a little bit of all three. I had a friggin’ blast watching this film. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had watching a film in a long time. It’s a perfect popcorn film that has it all.

The writing was surprisingly really good, the writing made you feel part of the story. It made you feel like an alien invasion can happen in real life, it was pretty realistic. I wasn’t bored one bit and stayed awake throughout the entire movie. The acting was phenomenal. You really got into the characters and made you feel part of them. They really showed their emotion and showed their acting talents. Aaron Eckhart was of course, a great actor in the film, but I liked everyone else too. Michelle Rodriguez is an actress that I love and she did a great job in the film, I was impressed with her too.

This is one of the best musical scores of a movie I’ve heard in a while too. Who ever did the score for this movie, deserves an award or something because this composer made the score very memorable. I would definitely fit the musical score to this film along with other iconic scores such as “Superman”, “Star Wars”, and “Indiana Jones” for sure.

Another thing I was impressed of with the film was the film’s sound. Oh my god. This film was LOUD! When you hear explosions and spaceships flying off the ground, you hear this loud rumbling through your ears as if you’re experiencing an earthquake. So when this film hits on DVD/Blu Ray and if you have a Surround Sound system, watch out and stand back!

The action scenes were such a blast to watch, it was a thrill ride. The thing with the Marines vs. Aliens goes, it actually made you feel like it’s war in real life. I’m sure you’ve seen other war films like “Black Hawk Down”, “The Hurt Locker”, “Saving Private Ryan”, and many more but in “Battle: Los Angeles”, this movie made you feel like you were high on something and watching a totally different war movie. The special effects and cinematography was very well done. The aliens in the film were cool too.

So far, this is the best film of 2011. I’d go see it again.

Score for “Battle: Los Angeles” = **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)

RIP: Elizabeth Taylor 1932 – 2011

Very sad and heartbreaking news today. One of the most famous actresses in the world, Elizabeth Taylor passed away. She is known to having various health problems over the years, mostly having problems with her heart. She is a two time Academy Award winner. She won for “Butterfield” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf”. Her most famous role that she is well known for is, “Cleopatra”, the biopic film of the Egyptian queen which she starred alongside, Richard Burton. Another one of her famous roles is in the film, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”.

We lost a true legend in the movie industry today. I actually watched “Cleopatra”, on TV just not too long ago and next thing you know, Elizabeth is gone. Elizabeth Taylor was 79 years old.

Improving Lead Guitar: Should guitar players learn cover songs note for note???

I’ve been reading a lot about trying to improve lead guitar solos. Reading theory, scales, modes, ear training and improv. All that stuff. I was giving the advice by some musicians that to get better, I should learn guitar solos from other cover songs note for note, so I can get musical and get a better ear. Sorry, but I disagree. I would probably stay away from learning guitar solos from other cover songs. My plan is, I’m just going to learn the theory stuff, get better at ear training and come up with my own style of lead guitar soloing.

I’m never going to play the “Stairway to Heaven” or Jimi Hendrix tunes note for note. Yes, I’ll still play cover songs, I’ll play the rhythm parts of the songs note for note, but the guitar solos on cover songs, I’ll make the solos sound like that I wrote it.

I think it’s better if you want your own style, your own sound. Don’t copy from anything else. Don’t play like Jimmy Page, Hendrix or Clapton. You want to sound like you. I’m trying to have a good ear with music and practicing ear training, it’s getting better for me.

I’m trying to be a better guitar player and doing the best I can to make it happen. I would consider myself an intermediate guitar player. I’m not even close to the advanced/pro level yet, but I hope to get there soon. I want to prove people that I can be a good musician.

I should be getting, “Band In a Box 2011” software soon. I’ll be able to make my own jam tracks with that software and that’ll be perfect practice for jamming on guitar solos. The main reason I’m trying to improve as a guitar player ’cause I want to get a band going. When I get a band, I’m probably going to do all guitar work myself, play both rhythm and lead. I’ve been spending so much time on guitar, it’s all I’ve been doing lately.

Report: Alan Paul’s “Big In China” book to be made into a movie, possibly directed by Ivan Reitman???

Most people may have never heard of this man, but Alan Paul, is an American journalist who writes for different music magazines. He mostly writes for, Guitar World, magazine.

Alan Paul is a blues musician, who lived over in Beijing, China for a while. While there, he formed a blues band named, Woodie Alan. The band, Woodie Alan, become famous over in China. Alan Paul, wrote his experiences over there in a memoir, as you see in the pic above. The book is now out in stores everywhere I believe. Ivan Reitman’s “Montecito Pictures”, just acquired the rights to make the book into a major motion picture. The film could possibly be directed by, Ivan Reitman himself.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

This book sounds very interesting to me! I’ll be going to the mall tomorrow, and I’ll probably take a walk over to “Barnes & Noble’, and I’ll look for this book. I’m interested in reading it.

If you don’t know who Alan Paul is, watch the videos below. I think he’ll definitely become more well known once this film hits theaters.

Report: Liam Gallagher still hates his own brother, Noel…

Ever since Oasis’s break up a few years ago, Liam Gallagher still holds a negative grudge against his own brother, Noel. Liam Gallagher formed a new band called, Beady Eye. When asked if Liam will perform classic Oasis songs at Beady Eye concerts, Liam replied that it will never happen. He says he doesn’t want to go backwards with Oasis and wants to move forward. They don’t feel comfortable playing other people’s music when they could make their own (Noel Gallagher wrote most Oasis songs, Liam just sang them).

Liam is also not the forgive and forget type. He will not accept Noel’s apology if he was ever asked for one. He also said there will never be an Oasis reunion.

Read the full interview, here.

Liam will get bugged to death about the Oasis reunion for the rest of his life now. I think Noel and Liam will one day, bury the hatchet. That’s what family is all about. They’ll get over it.

Thought: If Triple H breaks the Undertaker’s streak, then that would destroy wrestling overall…

This is obviously the most talked about match at “Wrestlemania 27”, which is just two weeks away on April 3rd. Will Triple actually break the Undertaker’s streak at Wrestlemania this year? Will it be 18-1?

On this week’s RAW, Triple had another promo out in the ring. He said this match is better than any other championship match and it would be a career defining moment to break the Undertaker’s world record “Wrestlemania” streak.

As you all know, the Undertaker’s undefeated “Wrestlemania” streak is the most important thing in wrestling history. If Undertaker’s “Wrestlemania” streak gets ended this soon, then wrestling would be destroyed over all and all the power would handed to Triple H. While I am looking forward to this matchup, I just don’t think Triple H will win and end the streak. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

The Undertaker will keep the streak going until he retires. It would be sad if Undertaker loses the streak this soon. It would certainly disappoint the wrestling industry as well. Triple H shouldn’t be the guy to end the streak. This is the Undertaker’s 18th match at Wrestlemania and in my opinion, the undefeated streak will keep going for a long time.

Some of you may ask, “Why are Triple H and Undertaker acting like this is their first match when they had a match for Wrestlemania X-7?” The reason is, there’s a lot of new wrestling fans these days. They wouldn’t know about WWE history much. The longtime fans like myself, would know about that match, but Undertaker and Triple stepping in the ring at WM-27, would be new to the newer fans though. I like how they are not mentioning their old match.

If Undertaker loses the streak at WM-27 this year, I probably will give up watching WWE for good. It would be devastating if that happens. If Undertaker were to lose the streak, they need to make it happen at the right time. Now it’s not the time to lose the streak, way too soon.

If Undertaker ever did lose the streak, it would indeed create controversy all over the net and would be a shocker to the world. I just don’t see it happening, so there’s really nothing to worry about.

In other Wrestlemania thoughts, there are actually a few other matches I’m looking forward to. I’m also looking forward to Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole and the Divas tag match that Snooki is in. I’m disappointed there’s no “Money in the Bank” ladder match this year though. There is usually a “Money in the Bank” ladder match every year at Wrestlemania. I’m not sure why they scrapped it.

Looking forward to WM-27 in a few weeks. After the WM-27 card is done, I’ll predict my winners.

Happy 80th William Shatner!!! :-)

I have followed William Shatner’s career for years. You have to give so much respect for this great man. He’s an American icon, and one of the true legends in the entertainment business, in my opinion. This man has done it all. He’s done everything in the entertainment business, that he could run out of things to do.

Lets look at all the things he has done over the years:

  • Movie actor for the big screen
  • TV actor – for commercials, sitcoms and a handful of other shows…
  • TV show host – from “Rescue 911” to “Shit My Dad Says”, etc. list goes on….
  • Film director
  • Screenwriter
  • Stand up comic
  • Novelist/writer (he’s written a handful of Star Trek books, biographies, and the “Tek War” series)
  • Spoken word musician/singer
  • Professional wrestler (yes, he did that too)

I think that pretty much covers it. I don’t think there is anything he hasn’t done yet. He’s 80 years old, still doing the things he loves doing. He hasn’t retired yet. I don’t think he will call it quits until the day he dies. It’s amazing he’s 80 years old and hard to believe too.

Congrats Shat, and happy birthday, man! You’re such a huge inspiration to me!

Report: Trish Stratus wants Chyna in wrestling Hall of Fame next!!!

IGN.com did an interview with former WWE Diva, Trish Stratus, to help promote “Tough Enough” which she will be one of the show’s trainers. When she was asked, who she would like to be in the WWE “Hall of Fame” next, the surprising answer, Chyna.

Trish said, “I think Chyna  should be next in because she did a lot of stuff to bring attention to the women’s division itself and just presented women as a different thing. I think fans were conditioned to see women as eye candy for a long, long time and she really broke the mold with that.”

And sorry to say, I’m gonna have to agree. I know Chyna is one of the most hated women of wrestling. People accuse her of being a man and being a plastic surgery whore, all that stuff, but I think Chyna deserves to be inducted. Not only that she killed, the “eye candy” of women in wrestling like Trish explained, Chyna did a lot in WWE and worked hard, like her or not.

The wrestling group Triple H and Shawn Michaels started, D-Generation X. D-X wouldn’t be huge if it wasn’t for Chyna. Chyna was a huge part of that group. I remember when she first joined, D-X, all the attention was on her. Plus her classic storyline with Eddie Guerrero is another reason she deserves to get inducted to the Hall of Fame. Plus she was the first woman to win the Intercontinental Championship belt.

Like her or not, she accomplished a lot in wrestling. She maybe a controversial woman and pretty questionable, but she deserves the Hall of Fame nod. Her and Vince McMahon don’t get along too well in real life, so I hope Vince does the right thing and let her in. They don’t call her the “9th Wonder of the World” for nothing, think about what that means, and why they call her that. Maybe Chyna won’t get inducted this year, but maybe down the road, when ever she buries the hatchet with Vince McMahon.

Watch the video below and look at all the stuff that she did.
