Thought: What Facebook is mostly used for…

I have been in facebook for a little over a year or so. I’m going to make an observation on what people mostly use the site for.

Here’s my take on facebook:

  • People like to talk about what they’re doing and where they’re going in life. You’ll see people in facebook saying stuff like “(name here) is at the grocery store”, “(name here) is making a cup of coffee”, “(name here) is going to the movies”, etc. The most popular one, is “I’m going to bed”, you see it everywhere!
  • People like to vent about how much life sucks or if they’re having a bad day. If something bad happens in people’s lives off the computer, they’ll go in facebook and rant about it publicly. Then their friends will start replying to them to try to make him/her feel better. I see this all the time.
  • People like to use the site for dating and relationships. Internet dating is becoming more popular than ever. People obsess with that, “in a relationship” status option in Facebook for whatever reason. I’ve seen couples hook up because of facebook lately.
  • The weird thing about facebook is that it also gives couples (whether married couples or not) the opportunity to show their love to each other in front of everyone publicly. Not that it’s a bad thing but it can be risky in a way. There are tons of single people out there, that if they have a crush on someone who is “in a relationship” or married, they’ll be keeping an eye on that “status relationship” option, to wait until they’re single or divorced again. It happens often in facebook, almost like a virtual soap opera like you see on daytime TV.
  • People like to play facebook games like farmville, mafia wars, etc. Sometimes this is the only thing people use facebook for.
  • People like to hit the “Like” button over stupid nonsense. You know what I mean, people would hit “Like” on these ridiculous sentences for example: “true friends treat each other right”, “Please no drama”, and all these personal relationships and dating tips people hit “Like” for. I think you know what I’m talking about.

I think that pretty much covers it. Maybe the facebook movie, “The Social Network” will cover all that stuff too. People use facebook in a very strange and odd way. Maybe that’s what Jeff Zuckerberg wanted people to use facebook for so they can stay addicted and it helps get more people to register.

I try my very best to keep my life off of facebook. I use the site to talk about the entertainment industry like I do here as a way to help promote my blog site. I don’t use the site to be open about my personal life like a lot of people do in there. I use it to talk about my usual music, movies, health & fitness topics in there. I think it is what’s best. People just don’t realize what they’re doing in social networking sites.

The “Social Network” looks like an interesting movie and I look forward to seeing it! I’m a huge fan of David Fincher’s work.

Thought: This blog does a nice job defending Jon Hamm, about him being too old for Superman…read up…

There’s a blogger over at the Film School Rejects website that defended the choice of Jon Hamm, who possibly maybe the next Superman. A lot of fans claimed that he’s too old for the role.

Read this blog here carefully.

Remember, Christopher Reeve was 26 when he did the first Superman movie. By “Superman III” and “IV: The Quest For Peace”, Reeve was between his 30’s-40’s then. The comics, the cartoons, the films, etc. Supes has a mature look. Jon Hamm, seems to have that Clark Kent/Superman look. His look doesn’t need to be similar to Christopher Reeve, they already did that with Brandon Routh. As long as Hamm has the Superman look, he will get signed to the role.

Jon Hamm is just at the right age. Not too old at all.

Thought: I think the RAW anonymous GM is the Ultimate Warrior, here’s why…

Brock here, thinks the RAW anonymous GM is no one other than the Ultimate Warrior. I’m 100% sure it is. I think this is my final pick and my final prediction. I used to think it was going to be the Rock, but no, it’s not gonna be the Rock. The Rock is too busy filming movies.

Why the Ultimate Warrior? Well pay attention to the storyline. All the clues and hints are pointing directly at the Ultimate Warrior. When Vince McMahon first announced there is a RAW anonymous GM, Vince said, he would have “Ultimate control”. In other clues, the anonymous RAW GM said he doesn’t care for The Undertaker and Bret Hart. Remember, the Warrior is no fan of them in real life. Also, notice how the Anonymous GM seems to be busting on Sheamus a lot? Ever wonder why? Maybe it’s because Sheamus has the nick name, “The Celtic Warrior”. Those are some hints. The Anonymous GM seems to be getting on Chris Jericho for the past couple of weeks. Why is this? It’s because the Warrior and Chris Jericho never feuded before in the history of wrestling. Chris Jericho likes to pick on the legends of wrestling and if Warrior was brought in, imagine Chris not liking it.

What about another clue? Well, if you watch RAW in the beginning of the intro theme, they keep showing classic footage of the Warrior in the open title sequence of RAW. Is that a hint that he’s about to make a huge return?

Keep in mind that the Ultimate Warrior and Vince McMahon had a long history, yes, they never got along too well in the past. There is a reason that the Warrior was being kept anonymous because of his history with Vince McMahon, an off public feud. The Warrior must of patched things up quietly with Vince behind the scenes of wrestling to sign Warrior back to the WWE.

I think the Warrior would come in as a babyface, not as heel. The Anonymous GM hasn’t been so nice to the Nexus, Sheamus and Jericho lately. He seems to be doing good for the good guy wrestlers. When Warrior comes in, he would feud with Jericho for a long while, then maybe Sheamus ’cause of his “Celtic Warrior” name. Warrior would continue to feud with the Nexus, giving them matches that they don’t want fight against. Then Vince McMahon would return to have a long feud with Warrior to try to fire Warrior or force him to retire like he did to Ric Flair. There could also be a Bret Hart return to feud with Warrior at some point too and maybe have a match together at the next Wrestlemania?

Yep, so this is who I think the RAW anonymous GM is. The Ultimate Warrior, gotta be. All the clues are pointing directly at him, can’t you see it?

Cool Video: Dolph Lundgren sings and dances to Elvis live on stage! Yes this is for real!

Dolph Lundgren, the action hero, recently hosted a Swedish yearly TV event called, “Melodifestivalen”. It’s a music competition similar to “America’s Got Talent/Idol” but different. Read more on, “Melodifestivalen”, here.

Many movie fans don’t know this, but other than being an expert martial artist and movie star, Dolph’s other passion is music. He was a musician before he became famous for movies. Dolph always loved to sing and play the drums. He’s got to show off his musical talent in his directed action movie, “Command Performance”, but never live on the performing stage. Dolph finally gets his opportunity to perform live.

Here he is, singing and dancing to Elvis’s “A Little Less Conversation”. He’s a badass in this video and does a good job. Just shows he would make a good host for the Oscars this coming year although I know he would never make it but it would be cool if he did host the, Oscars. Enjoy this video and have a laugh! Dolph sings good, I’m surprised!

Report: Robert Plant releases 9th solo album, “Band of Joy”…

Robert Plant, just released his 9th solo album, “Band of Joy”, which is a name that was taken from his first band before forming, Led Zeppelin. The new album is concentrating on mostly: country, blues, gospel and of course, there’s some rock n’ roll on it as well.

Robert wasn’t very big in his solo career, but he had a few very successful solo albums such as “Manic Nirvana, “Now and Zen” and “Fate of Nations”.

Read more on it, here.

I’m happy for Robert that he’s still doing music since, the Led Zep reunion. Hopefully Jimmy Page will come out with a new music project sometime.

Hear a new song from his new album, a song called, “Angel Dance” in the video below.

Report: Jon Hamm is “rumoured” to be the next Superman…

There are strong rumours flying around the net that “Mad Men” star, Jon Hamm, could be the next Superman/Clark Kent for Chris Nolan’s “Superman” flick. I never watched the show, “Mad Men”, before, but his character, Don Draper, does seem to have a Clark Kent personality. Then Hamm himself spoke with MTV News kind of hinting that he did get asked to play the role.

My thoughts? Some people may thinks he’s a bit too old for the role, but if I remember correctly, the Supes character was supposed to be aimed for a man in his 30’s – 40’s. It wasn’t really aimed at a young guy. I think Jon Hamm might be a good choice, if this news is true.

I wonder why Nolan is strict on casting for “Superman” and “Batman”. He seems to be keeping quiet on both of them for now. Hopefully Chris will talk soon.

Who is the best online fitness trainer???

There seem to be quite a few fitness trainers on the internet that are becoming an online sensation. So far the ones that I could find that seem to be the most popular are Scooby’s Workshop, Scott Herman’s Fitness, Zuzana’s Body Rock TV “charliejames1975”, and Micah Lacerte’s “Hitch Fit”.

I will give each one a star review. * = means poor ** = means ok *** = means good **** = means excellent

Here are my honest thoughts on each one:

Scooby’s Workshop: Many of you know my thoughts on Scooby already. While some of his information can actually be helpful, he’s misinformed on a lot of stuff. He doesn’t have the greatest physique and his workshop seems to be more popular with kids & teens more than adults. He’s got quite a large fanbase, they all look after him like he’s some kind of hero. He wouldn’t have been this popular if he didn’t steal the name and the image after a legendary cartoon character, Scooby Doo. He likes to add humor to his workout videos by adding, Hans, who appears to be a toy gnome. His workshop is aimed at fitness people who don’t know what they’re doing and he wants to correct them. This guy Scooby, can be rude and negative in a lot of his videos. His screaming into a pillow thing is annoying and not funny. Score = *.

Scott Herman’s Fitness – This youtube channel would have to be my favorite. Why? His workouts and nutritional stuff is free to learn from. Scott Herman seems very friendly and gracious. He’s not brutally honest like Scooby is. Scott explains workouts and nutrition to make you understand him easier. When he teaches you workouts, he does ’em in perfectly good form. He’s a real professional as well. He’s got a great physique for a young dude like him. Pretty much all of his workouts really work and helpful. He seems down to earth and cool.  I would recommend looking after this guy. Score = ****

Zuzana’s Body Rock TV “charliejames1975” – This channel seems to be more directed at women, but a lot of her stuff can be helpful for men too. Her workouts are unique and different. She’s inspiring. Plus, she’s hot and sexy looking. Too bad though dudes ’cause look like she’s already married or something. Score = ****

Micah Lacerte’s “Hitch Fit” = His youtube channel is pretty cool and interesting, but my only problem with him that a lot of his workout lessons seems to be aimed more toward the experience and advanced bodybuilders. He doesn’t give anything on nutrition at all. When you go to the “Hitch Fit” website, you can see that his online training program is not free. He’s very expensive, it can cost you around 250 – 300  or way more to learn from him. You don’t really have to go for stuff like this, when you can lose weight and get ripped when not having to spend any money. Score = **

Hope this helps.

Report: Sly Stallone teasing plans on doing a film about MMA/UFC???

Sylvester Stallone took to his twitter, teasing a new project that he is planning on doing a movie about MMA/UFC caged fighting. As you can see, Sly tweeted:

“The New Rocky… Update it with a young man with modern problems ,but he would not be called Rocky, just the philosophy would be used.”

“I would not be in it… It is an modern extension of the heart and philosophy . MMA too.”

“Yet a great MMA film should be done at once … Love must be the central theme like my buddy Rocky experienced. Pleasure/pain= LIFE”

Hmmmm, so what Sly is saying is that he is planning an MMA/UFC film that would be more like Rocky? I like the idea, a lot! As long as it won’t star Channing Tatum as the leading role, we don’t need another version of that aweful movie, “Fighting”.

It won’t surprise me that Sly will be eyeing, Randy Couture, as the leading role for this flick. Maybe Brock Lesnar would get a small role for it, as an opponent. I’m sure Dana White would get a cameo. There’s been fictional movies based on all sports but not many on caged fighting. If this will be Sly’s next movie after “The Expendables”, I’m all for it. The MMA/UFC community deserves their own film and it needs to be done by Sly. A Rocky styled MMA movie is a creative idea!

Brock doesn’t care about the MTV VMA’s anymore!!!

So you have to ask. Did the Brock watch the MTV VMA’s last night? NOPE! I did not. I just don’t care about the fucking VMA’s anymore. Everything you see on that show is fake and scripted. Even this whole Kanye vs. Taylor feud is fake and scripted. I don’t take what MTV does seriously. I stopped caring for the VMA’s a long time ago. MTV was good in the 80’s during the hair metal era and the early 90’s during the grunge metal era, but after that, MTV turned to shit. I don’t know why people still watch that fucking station. Not my thing.

So Justin Bieber turns out to be a drummer and he did a drum solo at last night’s show. Oh goody! NOT! I can think of plenty of kids that can play the drums way better than him. Look through youtube and you can see kids from 10-15 playing drums professionally and skilled.

What did I watch last night instead? I watched the Cowboys vs. Redskins game instead. That was better. It was a good game too. I wanted the Cowboys to win, but not too worry there will be plenty more Cowboys games up ahead! I’m sure they’ll do better in the future! I find myself watching sports a lot more often and I’ll probably watch a lot more football this year. I like the NFL. MLB baseball is alright, but I find football more exciting. Fuck the MTV Awards, fuck it all.

Cool Video: The lovely Zuzana gives advice to not eat so much!

Before I got into fitness, I was eating too much junk food. I was eating too many junk food snacks at night, a lot of fast food, and I drank quite a lot of soda everyday. I thought to myself, gee, what the hell am I doing? If America’s problem is obesity, then this is the people’s problem, eating too much junk food. I didn’t want to become a fat ass. So that’s another reason I got into fitness. To eat less, eat healthier and get fit. Eating less helps if you want to lose more bodyfat percentage and get more visible abs.

I feel great, eating better and eating less. I only eat two or three times a day. I don’t need to take in so much protein. I mix things up with high protein foods, high carbs, fruits/vegetables, etc. I recently discovered flaxseed oil, picked up a bottle of that at the store today. Flaxseed oil is an important part of the diet, that helps burn more bodyfat too.

Check out this interesting video. Not sure what country Zuzana is from. To me she sounds like she’s from France, her accent sounds French.
